Imaginetoys.com ~ Early Learning ABC Wordpad Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, June 04, 2012

When we were packing up and getting ready to move to our new house last Fall, I was amazed with how many toys the kids had accumulated. There were buckets and shelves full! While some were toys that I was familiar with and saw the kids play with frequently, there were many that I had completely forgotten about. The toys and games my kids enjoy most are those that are not only fun and challenging, but also age appropriate! I am always on the lookout for high quality toys like this, which is why I was happy when introduced to ImagineToys.com!

ImagineToys.com is a specialty toy store with a mission of providing quality toys that encourage children to use their imaginations. With parents as the toy buyers for Imagine Toys, customers can be confident that their variety of products are not only great quality and age-appropriate, but also unique from those you'd find at a mass-market toy store.

As I browsed ImagineToys.com for the first time, I was amazed with their large selection of toys. The thing I was drawn to most though, was how user-friendly their website is. I was able to easily find toys that would be of most interest to my kids thanks to their helpful tabs at the top of the page...searching by age and category. I enjoyed browsing through all of the fun toys and found that they also offered educational play value as well. This use exactly what I look for when it comes to things for my kids, and I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one.

We were sent the Early Learning ABC Wordpad for Kaelyn to review.
Features/Benfits:

  • Excellent electronic educational toy for preschoolers
  • Recommended for ages 3+
  • Required 2 AA batteries are included
  • 5 interactive learning activities - Letters, numbers, shapes, spelling and music
    Lightweight, portable design

When the ABC WordPad arrived, Kaelyn was instantly drawn to the colorful design and the fact that it's tablet-sized and made to look and feel like a real tablet. She loves feeling like mommy and daddy with her very own "electronic tablet" and I love seeing how much fun she has learning with it.
I knew it was going to be educational, but had no idea just how many fun activities it would have to offer. As Kaelyn and I checked it out for the first time, we were both tickled to find that there are five fun learning activities that she could do...all of which are engaging, challenging and something she could do for hours on end!
The five activities include Music fun which is a great way to encourage musical discovery. Kaelyn likes this ok, but her 2 1/2 year old brother Kaden LOVES it! The age recommendation is for 3+ which I do agree with, however the musical part is great for kids of all ages in my opinion!

The rest of the activities are ones Kaelyn absolutely loves, because she has always been a learner and enjoys a challenge. The fact that letters, numbers and spelling are some of her favorite things to work with these days, I knew this word pad would be a big hit.

The letter learning fun activity introduces upper and lower case letters, numbers and shapes. This is great practice for Kaelyn and helps her recognize these things. She also enjoys using this activity alongside her brother to help him start to recognize some of them as well!

I'd have to say that the word learning fun activity is probably her favorite though. She loves that it introduces the sounds of the letters and spelling. Lately she'll look at books, signs, etc and try to figure the words out based on the sounds each letter makes. This word learning fun really helps with that skill. It's perfect!
There's also spelling practice fun which is a little bit beyond her, but she loves it, because it's challenging. It's something that will keep her learning and trying as she continues to strengthen her spelling/reading skills over the coming months.

The find it activity is also fun, as it asks random question about letters, objects numbers and shapes. Between all of the activities, this interactive wordpad really allows children to have fun while learning everything from shape and letter recognition, letter sounds, and much more!

Kaelyn has really enjoyed using this fun electronic learning device. She says the friendly voices and fun sound effects are her favorite part! I would have to agree. This is definitely geared toward children around her age. It's been a fantastic learning tool...and the best part is...she's having fun at the same time! She asks to take it with us wherever we go, and I happily agree as it's a nice size and easily portable. We'll be going on vacation this summer, and I have a feeling this will be the perfect thing for her to do in the car, the motel, etc.

Overall we've been really happy with the Early Learning ABC Wordpad from ImagineToys.com! It has already provided hours of fun and learning, and I know will be a favorite around our house for many years. I would definitely recommend it to parents of preschool aged children!
