Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Friday, July 30, 2010

I don't consider myself a 'clean freak', however, when it comes to the floors in my home...I want them spotless! Between the spills, crumbs and dirt that gets brought in on shoes...I find myself having to clean the floors daily. It's not a job I enjoy, but knowing my kids are laying and playing on the floors every day makes it a must.

I am always looking for ways to make cleaning the hard floors in my home easier and faster. That's why I was extremely excited when I found out I was going to have the opportunity to review the new Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop!

Features/Benefits:

  • Safe to use on all hard floors including vinyl, hardwood, laminate and tile
  • The Refillable Spray Bottle allows you to use your own solution
  • The Microfiber cleaning pad picks up 50% more dirt and dust per swipe than traditional mops
  • The Microfiber pads are reusable
  • Non-battery operated
  • Trigger to dispense as much/or as little cleaning solution as you like
  • Made with durable/lightweight materials
My first impression of the Reveal Spray Mop when it arrived, was how durable it was! For some reason I was not expecting it to be as high quality as it is, so this was a fantastic surprise! Once again, Rubbermaid did not disappoint.

Getting started was very easy. To put the spray mop together, all I had to do was push the lower and upper mop poles together, attach the microfiber pad, fill the refillable bottle with water or cleaning solution, and insert the refillable bottle into place.

As I used the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop, I was amazed how well it cleaned my laminate floors. The microfiber pads are so soft and gentle and literally leave my laminate floors spotless. I couldn't be more thrilled! Thanks to the Velcro on the bottom of the mop, the pad stays in place.

I love that the microfiber pads are not only thick and great quality, but can also be reused. Simply wash them and use them time and time again! Talk about convenience and a great way to save money compared to other mops where you have to buy disposable pads every time.

Being able to use my own cleaning solution is great too. I love that I can fill the refillable bottle and not have to hold a mop and a spray bottle at the same time.

I love that I can push the mop and use the handy trigger at the top of the handle to dispense as much or as little cleaning solution or water as I want. It makes cleaning my floors quick and easy which is what any busy mom wants, right?!

We have been very impressed with the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop! Everything from the quality to the convenience has been great, which is why I will be recommending it to others.

CSN Stores Giveaway Coming Soon...

Posted by Jenna | Friday, July 30, 2010

I love when online shopping is convenient and easy for me to find what I'm looking for. Anyone who visits here often, knows that's why I'm such a huge fan of CSN Stores and their huge selection of products found all in one place! I can't tell you how many times I've turned to them for baby gear, household products, and more! Whether you're looking for toys, a new coffee maker, or even furniture...they have it all!

I recently shared with you that I had been selected to be a CSN Stores Preferred Blogger. This means that I will have the opportunity to bring you even more CSN Stores Reviews and Giveaways! If you love their 200+ stores as much as I do...this is very exciting!

So, stay tuned...we'll be having another CSN Stores Giveaway coming soon!!

I don't shop for myself very often, but when I do, I like to find clothing that is stylish and comfortable at the same time. It's fun to be fashionable, but comfort is a must when running after two kids all the time. That's why I was excited when introduced to VeronicaM and her amazing collection of women's clothing!

Growing up, Veronica's weekends consisted of fabric shopping with her mom or helping cut out patterns. She learned early on the secrets to designing no-nonsense, affordable clothing that acknowledge the modern woman and in 1996 started making mini skirts out of her moms garage and selling them at the Fairfax swap meet. Over the years Veronica Monroy-Ferrer has made a name for herself by designing classic styles with colorful vintage patterns, and now has five store locations in Southern California.

As I browsed the VeronicaM website, I was impressed with the unique styles and prints. They were fun, stylish and something I could see myself wearing and feeling good in. I was thrilled when I learned I was going to have the opportunity to review one of their pieces! It was not easy deciding on just one, as there are many choices that I thought were great. However, I decided to go with the Keyhole Mini Dress and am so happy I did!

When the Keyhole Mini Dress arrived, I couldn't wait to try it on. As I pulled it out of the packaging, I was amazed with how soft it is. I just love the lightweight material and knew it was going to be a very comfortable dress. I was right! The moment I put it on I knew it was going to be a dress I could wear in all different kinds of situations both dressy and more casual.

I really like the style and how it fits too! I don't like for things to fit too tightly across my stomach, which is why the blouson fit of this dress is so great and much appreciated!

The fact that it's a year round look is another reason I chose it. I like to be able to wear the clothes I own throughout the year. The three quarter sleeves and ability to wear a pair of leggings underneath makes that possible with this dress. Yay! I have already had the chance to wear it a couple times and look forward to wearing it a lot more!

I would highly recommend VeronicaM Clothing for anyone looking for high quality, stylish clothing that you can feel comfortable wearing. I love so many of their pieces and would really like to have the Kimono Mini Dress and Dolman Top at some point. Aren't they cute?!

Buy It: You can purchase the Veronica M Keyhole Mini Dress for $84.

Win It: One very lucky reader is going to win any $100 or under item of their choice!!

Kellogg Eggo Real Fruit Pizza Blog Tour ~ Review

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, July 29, 2010

Out of all the meals we eat in a day, I think breakfast is one of the most difficult to be able to sit down and really enjoy. By the time I get the kids up and ready, and get myself ready, I feel like there's little time to serve up a warm and filling breakfast for them. I do my best, but feel like I turn to cereal a lot. I wanted to make a change which is why I was thankful to learn more about Kellogg's new Eggo Real Fruit Pizza and excited to have had the opportunity to test it out!

We received two Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas. One was Strawberry Granola and the other was Mixed Berry Granola.
We have since tried both and are amazed with how flavorful they are. Even Kaelyn, who is our picky eater, LOVES it! Between the real fruit, oven-baked cinnamon and maple flavored crust, warm toasted granola and berry flavored cream cheese....the Eggo Real Fruit Pizza is a fantastic and yummy start to any day!

Just one minute in the microwave gives us a delicious breakfast. How convenient is that?! With the popularity of breakfast items such as fruit, cereal, snack bars and yogurt...I think the Eggo Real Fruit Pizza is a great option!

Our whole family is really impressed with the new Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas and will definitely be buying more in the future. I only hope that over time they come out with more varieties to try! If you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend it. Eggo Real Fruit Pizza is now available in the frozen section of retailers nationwide. Learn more by visiting LeggoMyEggo.com.

**I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Eggo Real Fruit Pizza and received a sample of the product and a $20 Amazon gift certificate to facilitate my review.**

With summer comes a lot of time spent outdoors playing in the water. Although fun, it also means a lot of money spent on those expensive disposable swim diapers! Thankfully, I just have Kaden in diapers since Kaelyn has been potty trained for over a year now...but it still gets to be quite expensive...especially with how many we go through. I have been looking for a better alternative and am so thankful to have been introduced to Bambino Mio and their adorable line of swimwear!

With more and more parents turning to clothing diapering, the Bambino Mio brand is there with quality products that provide convenience, comfort and style. As they continue to come out with new products, they are committed to providing parents with the best cotton nappies and associated products for their little ones.

As I was looking for a less expensive alternative to the spendy swim diapers we were using, I came across Bambino Mio and am so happy I did! Their adorable swimwear line consists of super cute cloth nappy swimsuits as well as their award-winning swim nappy. I was thrilled when I learned that we were going to have the opportunity to review two swim diapers for Kaden.

Bambino Mio sent us their Blue Spot Swim Nappy and Orange Fish Swim Nappy.

Features/Benefits:
  • Soft & gentle cotton lining
  • Elasticized waist and leg cuffs provide a secure, slim fit
  • Draw String to ensure great fit
  • Leak proof legs and waistband to prevent any solids from escaping
  • No other diaper is required
  • Concealed water proof layer to contain accidents
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Boy and Girl patterns/colors
When they arrived, I couldn't wait to try them out with Kaden. I was getting tired of using the bulky swim diapers that weigh him down when wet, not to mention the expense! As I opened the package, I was amazed with how soft they are! I can see why these are so great for a little one's sensitive skin thanks to the gentle cotton lining.

I was a little worried that they may be loose around his legs or waist, but any concerns I had were put to rest the moment I put them on him! The elasticized waist and leg cuffs fit him securely and comfortably which is great. I love that there's a drawstring as well. I was able to tighten it so it fit him perfectly!

What I love most about the Swim Nappy from Bambino Mio, is the fact that no other diaper is required to be worn with it. When we're heading out to the pool...all I need to do is slip Kaden in one of the swim nappies and we're ready to go. It's so convenient and so much more affordable than the disposable swim diapers!

Oh, and did I mention how adorable they are?!

Unlike the disposable swim diapers we had been using, the Swim Nappy does not hold water and weight him down. They remain lightweight and comfortable even when he is in water.

I am very happy with the Swim Nappy from Bambino Mio. They are high quality, eco-friendly, convenient and so adorable! I would highly recommend them to anyone with a little one still in diapers. They come in fun boy and girl colors/prints.
I am also impressed with their newest additon to their swimwear line, the Nappy Swimsuit!

Seeing how much I love the Swim Nappy, I wish I had had something like this when Kaelyn was still in diapers. They come in two adorable patterns, Lime Fish and Red Fish and offer the same comfort and protection as the Swim Nappy. The Nappy Swimsuit also offers modest cover and sun protection.

Buy It: You can purchase the Swim Nappy for $16.95 and the Nappy Swimsuit for $29.95.

Win It:
Bambino Mio is giving one lucky reader a Swim Nappy and another lucky reader a Nappy Swimsuit (that's TWO WINNERS!)

Mandatory Entry - To enter, visit Bambino Mio and leave a comment letting me know another product you like AND whether you'd prefer the Swim Nappy or the Nappy Swimsuit.

VTech's Ultimate Tip List for Encouraging Our Kids To Read

Posted by Jenna | Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Last week's V.reader giveaway was a lot of fun! I had such a wonderful time reading through all of your great tips for encouraging kids to read and have taken note of many of them that I'd like to try with my kids. As you may remember, VTech asked that I choose 5 tips from those submitted during the giveaway for a chance to be included in their Ultimate Tip List for Encouraging Our Kids To Read.
Out of those 5 tips I chose, VTech chose one to add to their Ultimate Tip List. Congratulations to commenter #309, Liz (lhoward916(at)gmail.com), your tip is #3 on their list!

"Make reading exciting with indoor “campouts.” Use sheets and chairs to help your kids make tents, pile blankets and pillows inside, and bring snacks and a stack of books. Reading with a flashlight will add novelty to the activity."

That means Liz is in the running to win a VTech V.Reader and THREE animated storybook cartridges (worth over $110)! The Grand prize winner will be drawn at the end of the week...so be sure and stay tuned!

Be sure and take a look at VTech's 'The Ultimate Tip List for Encouraging Our Kids To Read', with tips from each of the blogs that were participating. It's a wonderful list and one I hope you'll all take a look at. What a great resource to have in helping make reading fun the whole year through.

Me and my baby boy ~ I can't believe he's 8 months old already

I remember registering for baby gifts when I was pregnant with Kaelyn and feeling overwhelmed with all the choices. As a first time parent I had no idea what to look for in a play mat or which swing and bouncy seat would help soothe her best. Now, having had two babies, I've learned there are many products out there, but when it came right down to it, nothing soothed my babies better when they were little than being bounced and swayed in my arms. That's where 4moms comes in.
4moms is a small company named after 5 real life moms (they thought 4moms sounded better than 5moms) who have 15 children between them! They were 4moms' original focus group and ever since their first meeting, they’ve contributed their insights and expertise to the products 4moms creates. Along with a team of others...including graphic designers, web developers, business professionals, engineers and roboticists....they design and build innovative products that make life easier and more enjoyable for both babies and parents.

One of 4moms' most recent products to launch was the mamaRoo! Their team actually used motion sensors to measure movements of real moms and dads as they soothed their babies. They found that parents don't vibrate like bouncy seats or swing like baby swings. They bounce and sway which is often the most soothing thing for a fussy baby. That's what makes the mamaRoo so great...it actually moves 'like you do'. This is exactly what I needed those first 6 months with both my babies!

I am a huge fan of 4moms, and as you may remember, was fortunate enough to win one of their giveaways for their Cleanwater Infant Tub. We are beyond thrilled with the quality and the thought that went into creating such a great product...which is why I was very excited to learn that we were going to have the opportunity to review the mamaRoo in red/charcoal!

Features/Benefits:

  • Easy assembly
  • 5 unique motions that move like you do
  • 5 speeds for rest or play
  • Machine washable fabric
  • Reclines to any position along its axis
  • 3 plush toy balls that easily pop in and out so baby can play with/chew on/and study them
  • Plugs in
  • 5 built-in nature sounds
  • Ability to plug in any MP3 player
When the mamaRoo arrived, I thought about waiting for hubby to get home before attempting to put it together, as typically the 'big' jobs are left for him to help me with. However...pleasantly surprised with the nice size of this box...I had a feeling I could handle it, no problem. And I did!

As I opened the box I found there were much fewer pieces to be assembled than I had expected and best of all...only one screw. 4moms definitely had the busy parent in mind when creating the mamaRoo's quick and easy setup! In a few easy steps, I had the mamaRoo put together and ready to test out.

Steps:

1. Slide the center support tube through the base and tighten front end cap with the screw.

2. Snap each seat side rail into place.

3. Zip on the fabric seat

4. Attach the toy bar

5. Plug In (YAY for no batteries!)

The mamaRoo is suitable for children up to 25 lbs and for those who are not yet sitting up on their own for safety reasons. Kaden is under 25 lbs, but has been sitting up on his own for quite some time now. We still wanted to be sure and give it a true test though and have been able to use it with our undivided supervision (since he likes to try and sit up in it) several times since receiving it. I wasn't sure how he'd like it, but he loves it!

The toy bar with the 3 soft balls is probably his favorite part. Not only are they removable and fun for him to play with, but they are also reversible having different colors on each side. For younger babies, there is black and white...and for babies around 4 months+ there is a side with colors. Love it!

When I first got it set up and buckled Kaden in, I was immediately impressed with the seat. It not only seemed very comfortable for him, but I love the shape and the fact that it almost hugs him. It's cozy and I'm sure helps give babies a sense of comfort and security. Other benefits of the seat is the fact that it can easily be removed and washed. It also reclines to any position along its axis. By simply sliding the seat to a desired position and re-locking the seat recline switch...you're baby is ready to move!

This is definitely not your ordinary bouncy seat or swing. It offers 5 unique motions that bounce up and down and sway from side to side...just like parents do when comforting our babies. Using the LCD Display and the Motion Toggle Button, I was able to easily find a motion that Kaden enjoyed. He really enjoys them all, but his favorite is the car ride. He smiles from ear to ear every time! Be sure to check out the video here to see each motion in action.
I always appreciate a product that offers adjustable speeds. There are times when slow is nice, but also times when a little bit faster works well too. When it came to creating the mamaRoo, Medical experts pushed for speeds that would really stimulate a baby's inner ear and then there were some 4moms who preferred slower movements. To provide a little something for both sleep and play, the mamaRoo was built with 5 different speeds that can be adjusted using the Speed Toggle Button. It makes it easy to find which is right for your baby.

I knew just from seeing pictures online, that the mamaRoo was going to be one of the most technologically advanced and innovative baby products we have used so far, but did not know to what extent until we were actually able to test it out. To put it simply...I was amazed! I knew the LCD screen would be great, but didn't realize how easy it would make finding the right speed and motion.

I also didn't realize how much we would like the option of being able to hook up an MP3 player using the included cable to play the music of our choice! How cool is that?! This is yet another feature that sets the mamaRoo apart from other products out there. There are 5 built-in nature sounds, however, being able to use an MP3 player means you are not limited those if you want something different. I can't tell you how many times I've wished that our baby swings and bouncers had more options than the few that they offer.

This product would have been wonderful to have, especially in the beginning when Kaden was just a newborn. He went through a time when he was quite fussy for a few hours every night between 7 and 10...and holding him while we swayed back and forth was the only thing that calmed him down. I can't wait to be able to use the mamaRoo with our next baby when the time comes!

We are VERY impressed with the mamaRoo and love all the options it provides. It was definitely created with both parent and baby in mind which is what I look for when it comes to baby gear. It's so easy to use and gives you choices so you can find the perfect way to soothe your baby each and every time. I would highly recommend it to parents with young babies.

Buy It: The mamaRoo retails for $199 at several retail locations and online stores. A list of where to purchase can be found here.
