When Kaelyn was younger, I remember what a process it was to get ready to visit anyone else's house. We had to pack up the car with toys, blankets, the high chair, etc. By the time we were all ready to go, it seemed as though we were packed for a one week vacation...just to go somewhere for a few hours! I remember wishing that there was an easy way to keep her entertained and in one place, especially when we visited places where there weren't many kid friendly items. That is why I was THRILLED to come across the PopATot!!

The PopATot is an activity center for children 6-18 months old (up to 30 pounds), created by parents of 5 young children, Evan and Stacy Ellsworth who were looking for a portable activity center for young children. It is made from a lightweight steel frame that folds down into an easy to carry, slim, over the shoulder carrying case. It reminded me a lot of the way those camp chairs fold up into cases, making it super easy to carry from place to place! You can learn more about how the PopATot came to be by viewing Stacy Ellsworth on her recent Great Day St. Louis appearance in this video clip.

We were sent the PopATot to review and I have to say from the moment I opened up the box, I was very impressed! Until receiving it, I didn't realize how compact it really was. It came in the carrying case which only measures 5 inches wide and 36 inches long. I took the PopATot out of the case and couldn't believe how easy it was to set up. I thought that there would be pieces to attach to one another, but there wasn't. You set it up right and it literally "pops" into place....no assembly required! All you have to do once it's out, is make sure to lock the two safety latches which provide extra stability during use.

There were many features about the PopATot that I liked. First, the materials used are high quality and durable. The canvas material is perfect for young children. It's comfortable and would be very easy to wash. The bottom of the PopATot is actually removable and machine washable. I really liked that there was a bottom like this, as it's perfect for protecting a baby's feet from the itchy grass, dirt or wherever else you might have it setting. The frame was also very sturdy. I would have no worries putting a child in the PopATot at all!

Not only does the PopATot help to keep a baby in one place, but it also keeps them entertained. No more hauling a car load of toys and things to keep a baby busy. There are actually five loops on the top to attach toys to. This provides things for your child to play with, without having to worry that they are going to fall on the floor. I also liked the two sippy cup/snack holders....how convenient is that?!

I was very impressed with this product and would recommend it to any parent of young children. It's definitely one of the Mommy Must-haves on my list and would make a terrific gift for new moms and those who love spending time outdoors as a family! I am looking forward to using this with our little one once he/she arrives in November both indoors and outdoors! I have a feeling Kaelyn will enjoy it just as much as the baby! From the moment we set it up she has enjoyed crawling underneath it and calls it her "tent".

Buy It: You can purhcase a PopATot for just $49.99 from the PopATot website. If you'd like the PopATot with the new clamp-on adujustable umbrella (perfect for outdoor use), you can purchase it for just $59.99. Oh, and for a limited time....there is FREE shipping! There are also a number of retail stores which carry the PopATot.

I nursed Kaelyn until she turned one. It was such a wonderful bonding experience and I was so happy that we were able to keep it up for that long. I would recommend any mom to give it a try, not only for the nutritional and health benefits, but also for the bonding experience it provides for you and your little one! I hope to nurse this second baby for the first year as well! Although it was a wonderful experience, one thing I remember is going through boxes and boxes of nursing pads in the beginning. They didn't work very well and it was quite a hassle.

That's why I was happy to learn more about LilyPadz! Lilypadz was born when a young mother of three got tired of the traditional, incovenient and expensive disposable nursing pads! I was sent a set of LilyPadz and was impressed with the quality and their unique no-leak design. They are thin silicone nursing pads that act like a second skin. They're flexible and breathable, and almost invisible! I think my favorite thing about LilyPadz is that they seem like they would be totally comfortable and no one would be able to tell you're wearing them. They're also reusable and can last for several months! I think that is great because it was a pain having to change nursing pads all the time and buy boxes at a time. I obviously haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, but look forward to being able to when our baby arrives in November!

Have you had any experiences with LilyPadz? If so, I'd love to hear them. If you haven't ever heard of them and would like to learn more...there's a wealth of information on their website here. They have a great FAQs section and many testimonials from satisfied customers.

Buy It: Lilypadz can be purchased at a number of online stores and retail locations...all conveniently found on their website. You can also order LilyPadz directly from LilyPadz for $22.95.

Happy Green Bee Review and Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, August 27, 2009

Over time I have learned that there are many benefits to choosing Organic Cotton clothing. It's not only soft and comfortable, but also better for the environment and those in it. It's especially something that I've become more interested in finding for Kaelyn to wear. That's why I was thrilled to learn more about Happy Green Bee, a company offering organic cotton clothing specifically for kids!

Happy Green Bee was founded by Roxanne Quimby, the woman behind the very well known company, Burt's Bees. She saw a void in the market for organic cotton clothing for kids, and so Happy Green Bee was born! Their philosophy is simply to provide children's clothing that is comfortable, colorful, playful and ecologically responsible!

Happy Green Bee sent us their fun Amber Doll for Kaelyn! The first thing that caught my eye was the great colors and the quality of this doll. She is made of organic cotton and is one of Kaelyn's new favorite toys!! It's scary to think of all the toxins many of the toys on the market today are made with. It put my mind at ease that Kaelyn now has a doll she can play and snuggle with that is made from Organic Cotton...a toy that does not retain toxic residue like other materials, harmful pesticides and fertilizers were not used to grow it, and it's pure and natural! As well as the Amber Doll, they also have an Abbee Doll....both of which come in two choices of colors.

Their line of Organic Cotton clothing for kids is also adorable! I would love many of the items they carry. These are just a couple of outfits that I think are just darling! I really like that Happy Green Bee clothing is made to mix and match and that it's environmentally friendly. Their sizes go from infant to 4T!

Their line of products does not stop at clothing and dolls! They also offer some great "gifts" and "extras" that you'll definitely want to check out! I just love this Mom's on the Go Kit, containing products like biodegradable eco friendly laundry detergent, home-made diaper ointment and herbal room spray!
Buy It: Happy Green Bee products can be purchased directly from their catalog and factory store page!

How To Enter To Win: Happy Green Bee is offering a $25 coupon to be used on any item in their catalog or factory store page to one of my lucky readers! (You can sure do a lot with $25 on their factory store page!!) To enter, visit Happy Green Bee and tell me something you would purchase with the $25 coupon if you won!

Grandma El's Review and Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, August 24, 2009

I am always thrilled to find natural products that are safe for our family!! I am probably the most cautious with the products I use with Kaelyn and I know that I will be the same way when our second baby arrives in November! That's why I was excited to come across Grandma El's products a while back and learn more about this great company!

Grandma El's is owned by Jonathan and Melissa Posner, parents of a two year old daughter. This product was formulated in early 1972 by Jonathan's father, Robert Posner, for use on Jonathan's diaper rash as a child. When realized how effective it was...it became quite popular. In 2005, Jonathan formed the company Grandma El's (named after his mother, Eleanor Posner) to help make this natural diaper rash remedy and prevention ointment available to parents all over the country!

Grandma El's sent us some of their Diaper Rash Remedy and Prevention ointment to try with Kaelyn. I was really interested in seeing how this product worked. Although Kaelyn is potty trained, she still wears diapers at night. She typically wakes up dry, but wets her diaper once in a while. We found that she had a mild diaper rash recently (probably because her skin was no longer use to sitting in a wet diaper at night). I began using the Grandma El's samples we were sent, and was amazed at how quickly her diaper rash cleared up!! I felt good about using something that was safe and natural on her, and could tell that this diaper rash remedy was really working! Oh, and not to mention that it smells great too!

Besides the obvious effectiveness of this product in helping to heal her diaper rash, I was also very impressed with the fact that it's not a messy paste like so many other diaper rash creams. This is more like a jelly that goes on smoothly and stops redness and pain very quickly! It seems to protect as it heals and prevents the discomfort that comes along with having a diaper rash. Grandma El's patented formula helps to create a breathable barrier so your baby's skin can breathe. I am really happy to have found a product that is made with the safest ingredients to use with Kaelyn. I will definitely be using it with our little one once he/she arrives as well! All of their products are made without the use of phthalates, parabens, dyes, or any other harmful ingredients.

Oh, and did I mention that it has other uses as well?! The following are some of the other uses for Grandma El's diaper rash remedy and prevention ointment:

Cradle Cap
Chapped Cheeks
Sunburn
Eczema
Cracked Heels
Rough Elbows
Heat Rash
Stretch-mark Reduction
Cold Sores
Razor Burn
Chapped Lips
Cuts & Scrapes
Burns

Pretty impressive if you ask me. It has also been tested and is proven to work with cloth diapers! We are definitely going to make sure we have this available at all times in our household from now on. I would also love to try a couple of their other products at some point. Especially the Tear-Free Gentle Baby Shampoo and the Tear-Free Gentle Baby Wash! All of their products would make a great baby shower gift!

Buy It: Grandma El's Diaper Rash and Prevention Ointment can be purchased directly from their website as well as from other store locations, easily found using their store locator.

The coupon code: balance has been set up for my readers as well! Use it (one time per customer) on your next purchase at Grandma El's and receive $5.00 off!!

How To Enter To Win: Grandma El's is giving one of my readers a 2 oz tube of the Diaper Rash and Prevention Ointment (which lasts up to 6 weeks, used with every single diaper change...a little goes a long way)!! To enter, visit Grandma El's and leave me a comment letting me know something you learned.

Swami Baby Boutique Review

Posted by Jenna | Friday, August 21, 2009

I always enjoy finding unique baby clothing....especially those that are trendy and cute! I happened to come across Swami Baby a couple of months ago and found that their clothing line for both baby and adults were definitely unique and stylish!

Mother of three and Swami Baby owner, Katie Holley, wanted to design a line of babywear and gifts that give voice to our wise little ones...and so Swami Baby was born! Not only does this line of babywear reflect their ability to enjoy life, but is also a reminder to us all to take time to relax, enjoy ourselves and take life one baby step at a time. I don't know about you, but this is a reminder I definitely need when life becomes hectic and busy!

I was thrilled when Swami Baby sent us their Think Green T-shirt (I Recycle) for Kaelyn! It says "Same Shirt, Different Day, I Recycle" and is absolutely adorable!! Not only did I love the statement which was made, supporting Green Thinking, but I also was very impressed with the quality! It was very soft and washed up perfectly! Whenever Kaelyn wears this T-shirt, we get many comments and people who just love how cute it is. What's great is that there are many other options available over at Swami Baby as well! I would also love their other two Think Green T-shirts for Kaelyn and our little one on the way! Or, how about this adorable custom embroidered personalized onesie...so cute!

For more information about Swami Baby and where to purchase their great baby and adult clothing and gift items...visit their website today. You can also become a Swami Baby Fan on Facebook or follow them on Twitter!

Elegant Elle Maternity Tops Review and Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Wednesday, August 19, 2009

During pregnancy I always find that it's tough to find clothes you feel stylish in. With most of the maternity tops I bought when I was pregnant with Kaelyn, I felt like they were too baggy and like I looked a mess most of the time. When I found out I was pregnant this second time around, I decided I wanted to find maternity clothes that suited my style more and fit me the way I like. In my search I have come across some really cute and stylish options...especially those from Elegant Elle!

I was sent two tops from Elegant Elle to review and was very pleased with both! They sent me a basic maternity tee....the Celtic Knot Short Sleeve Maternity Tee, and the Tatyana Long Sleeve Maternity Top which will make a perfect top for Fall! When I received them in the mail, my first impression was that they were great quality! I was very pleased with the material and the styles! I could now where something cute, yet something that would still fit my growing bump. I have to say that there prices were great too! As I browsed the Elegant Elle website I was very impressed with the afforability of many of their items! This is a must when it comes to maternity clothes, as they aren't something that is worn for long.

I really liked wearing both of the tops...my favorite would have to be the Celtic Knot Short Sleeve Maternity Tee. It was more simple and VERY comfortable. I find with the temps still fairly warm out, that it's one I've already gotten lots of use out of. What's great is that it's something which can be dressed up, or dressed down. I also like that it's stylish and shows off my baby bump...not too large and baggy. This shirt comes in white, black and heather gray...I'd love to own all the colors at some point!

The Tatyana Long Sleeve Maternity Top is also very cute. I haven't had the chance to wear it as much, as it's still quite warm here...but I know it will make a great shirt for Fall. My favorite part about it is that it's quite long. As I continue to get bigger, I know this shirt will fit around my belly. I also liked how it was a little more dressy and could dress up any pants I choose to wear with it. This particular shirt comes in silver and black.

Both shirts have received many compliments when I wear them out and about. People like the style and the fit the most! I gladly tell them where I got them as I am very impressed with Elegant Elle and the quality of their maternity clothes. They have other great maternity items...like belly bands and swimwear as well!

Buy It: The Celtic Knot Short Sleeve Maternity Tee can be purchased for just $15.00, and the Tatyana Long Sleeve Maternity Top can be purchased for $20.00...both of which are available right on their website!

How To Enter To Win: I am very excited because Elegant Elle has offered one of my readers a maternity top of their own! The winner will get to choose between the two styles I received and the color they would like! To enter, visit Elegant Elle and leave me a comment letting me know another item they carry that you like.

The Little Lasso Review and Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Tuesday, August 18, 2009

I remember when Kaelyn first began using a sippy cup and how she thought it was a fun game to throw her sippy cup on the floor and say "uh oh". It was cute the first few times, but then became very tiring for us. She doesn't do this anymore, but I do find that when we travel and she's in her car seat or stroller that it falls to the floor or ground a lot. This happened some while we were at the county fair recently....and that's definitely not the kind of place you want your child's sippy cup falling on the ground!!

That's why I was excited to come across The Little Lasso....a product I know we would have gotten much use out of when Kaelyn was younger...and one we'll use for years to come!! I love that The Little Lasso has given parents a solution to keep bottles and sippy cups in place! It not only works for these items, but also toys and blankets as well! It easily secures to high chairs, strollers, shopping carts and more! This is truly a product that all parents will find useful for babies/kids of all ages!

I was really excited to have the opportunity to review The Little Lasso and use it with Kaelyn! We've already used it a number of times, mainly on walks when it's warm and we take her water with us. It's so handy and I like knowing that it's not going to continually drop on the ground and get dirty. I really like the simple design and quality of this item! You just hook it to a stroller, wagon, etc, and then slip it onto the sippy cup or bottle. The Little Lasso comes in many great fabrics, making it fun for kids too. After having used it, I can tell that it is a product designed by a mom who understands the age old problem of toddlers tossing things to the ground! It's made without snaps, velcro, buckles or clasps which is nice too.
