Checking Our List: Verilux ~ The HappyLight® 6000 Energy Lamp Review

Posted by Jenna | Sunday, December 12, 2010

With well over 10 inches of snow on the ground just in the past 2 days, it's definitely feeling more like winter around here. I have to admit there's not much I like about this season. It's cold, dreary, and being cooped up in the house most days is not something the kids or I are particularly fond of. With little sunshine we need something to help brighten these dull winter days, which is why I'm thankful for Verilux and their light therapy products to help fight those winter blues.

Since 1956, Verilux, 'The Healthy Lighting Company', has been designing and manufacturing environmentally friendly lighting, light therapy lamps, and UVC light cleaning and sanitizing solutions. They are the leader in wellness lighting technology and offer a complete line of full spectrum and natural spectrum lighting designed to improve people's quality of life.

As I was browsing their website for the first time, I was interested in learning more about their HappyLight® line of light therapy lamps...the number one light therapy product in the world, and was thrilled to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the HappyLight® 6000 Sunshine Supplement Light System!

The HappyLight® 6000 couldn't have arrived at a better time. Winter was just starting to set in and I was already starting to feel restless from being stuck indoors.

After reading through the instruction manual which provided a lot of helpful information on the correct way of using this light, I was ready to try it out. Upon pulling it out of the box, I was impressed with the quality. I also appreciate the size. It's not too big, yet not too small either. It's a nice, convenient size that makes it easy to put it pretty much anywhere with a flat surface.

I decided to place it on one of my kitchen counters, as this is centrally located in my home and a place I spend a lot of time. The kitchen has a window but does not get a lot of sunshine coming in, so I thought this would be the perfect place.

Since receiving the light I've had it on a couple hours a day for the most part. It really has seemed to help brighten these dull winter days. The Natural Spectrum Daylight helps combat fatigue while improving mood, energy levels, focus and concentration. I especially notice a difference as I'm working on the computer and trying to be productive.

I like that there are two different settings...a high setting and a low setting. The high setting is more bright, which is nice for mornings and getting started with my day, however I typically use the dull setting more. It's all based on personal preference and it's nice that users have a choice.

I would recommend the HappyLight® 6000 Energy Lamp to anyone feeling the effects of seasonal change, fatigue, etc. I for one have found it to be a great way of improving my mood when I'm feeling sluggish and tired and love having the Natural Spectrum Daylight this time of year especially.
