As a child I remember loving this time of year at school. We were always starting to get ready for our Valentine's Day parties, and that included being able to personalize yummy candy for all of my friends. I have fond memories of doing this, and so far Kaelyn enjoys doing the same! This year Sweethearts is making it even more fun to do a Valentine's exchange with their new packing!

Sweethearts Conversations Hearts, little sugar hearts with the sweet, quirky sayings, have been a Valentine's staple for the last century. NECCO, the manufacturer of Sweethearts, makes 8 billion candyhearts each year to meet demand! WOW! This Valentine's Day, Sweethearts has a brand new package so kids can personalize their Valentines even more for their friends and classmates.

We were sent a case of this cool new candy offering to try out.

The new Sweethearts Color Your Own box is black and white. It has stenciled hearts and a matte finish so children can actually color/design their own boxes with crayons and markers. There's even a place to put who it's to and from!

I love this idea, as kids enjoys coloring and personalizing things for their friends and teachers. This is the perfect idea for Valentine's and one Kaelyn is excited to do for her friends at school!

She and her brothers even made some for their cousins and had a great time doing it. The matte finish on the box makes it easy to decorate, and I love that each one turns out unique. There are even lines on the back to leave a personal message which Kaelyn especially enjoys now that she's writing and spelling more words.

Along with the launch of their new packaging, NECCO is also launching a Color Your Own contest so kids can share their unique sweethearts box designs with the world for the chance to win sweet prizes like $1000 savings bonds! Here's a link to the contest page to learn more.

WIN IT: One lucky reader is going to win a case of Sweethearts Color Your Own boxes!

If they came in time for v-day, I'd use them for school treats for both of my kids!

These would be for my kids to give out at school. I have a bit of a double standard when it comes to Valentines. For my son I want him to give candy to the "cutest" girl in his class, but if my daughter came home with some candy, I would say, my princess is too young for this, even though she is eight and my son is six.
