Like many little girls her age, Kaelyn loves anything and everything to do with Princesses! She has her favorites, but at the top of her list is definitely Ariel! She asks to watch The Little Mermaid often, so I knew she'd be really excited to learn about a new feature I was introduced to.
Her favorite characters from Disney's The LIttle Mermaid have returned with double the adventure and more memorable music on The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning. This is a 2-Movie Collection and I couldn't have been more excited that we were going to have the opportunity to review it!
This Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack released on November 19th, 2013. When it arrived on our doorstep, Kaelyn was eager to watch it! I was too, so we sat down that evening and did just that!
The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea is the return of all our favorite characters from The Little Mermaid. They continue their adventures in this enchanting sequel. Ariel's daughter wants to be part of the magical world, even though her parents tell her merpeople and Atlantica are just "old fish tales".
As the story goes on, all the good creatures on the land and under the sea join forces to show Melody that both her worlds can live in perfect harmony.
It was really a great story and one Kaelyn and I both enjoyed watching together.
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning reveals extraordinary events that led up to her transformation into a princess! Before Ariel walked on land and met Prince Eric, she was one of seven beloved daughters of a power king. But times were troubled in the underwater kingdom, and music was banned.
During this adventure, Ariel and her sisters strive to bring music and friendship back to Atlantica.
This was also a breathtaking animation with some really great surprises I don't want to give away for those who have yet to see it. Both are tales I'll be sharing with my kids time and time again.
Both features also had some great bonuses as well. The Little Mermaid II Storybook, Classic Animated Short "Merbabies", Splashdance: A Daughter's Adventures Under The Sea, Music and so much more!
