Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes for Cold & Cough Season

Posted by Jenna | Monday, February 11, 2013

I don't know about you, but our family has found that cough and cold season this year is one of the worst we've experienced! It feels like every week one of us is fighting it....especially the kids! That's why we've been doing our best to take extra precautions to make sure our family stays healthy!

Staying healthy this time of year is not always easy, but there are some things we do to try and keep our family as healthy as possible.
  • We wash our hands frequently
  • Eat a healthy, balanced diet to help boost our immune systems
  • Avoid sharing food, drinks, etc.
  • Keep our toys and blankets clean
  • Use Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes (and take them with us wherever we go!)
My husband and I have been very thankful to have Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes on hand over the past month. We have had several bouts of sickness pass through our home, and are convinced that having these on hand have helped keep it from spreading even more! We wipe down hard surfaces and toys, as well as our hands and the kids hands after blowing their nose.
I have also found that the Wet Ones Hand Wipes are great to have along in the diaper bag when we're out and about. I use them to wipe off shopping cart handles, after pumping gas, even after shaking hands at church!

It hasn't helped keep all colds and coughs away from our home, but I think it could be a lot worse had we not been doing what we can to be proactive. It seems to be helping to keep the colds and coughs from spreading to everyone in the family which is great...because who needs five people sick all at once?!

I've also found the tips to keep family healthy this cough and cold season helpful from Dr. Benjamin Tanner.
  • Practice Good Hygiene for at Least a Week After a Cold. Cold viruses can be found in nasal secretions of children for two to three weeks after the onset of symptoms. That’s a long time for an unwanted guest to stick around!
  • Keep Your Immune System Healthy. Studies show that maintaining a healthy body weight with proper nutrition reduces risks of infection, and also may prevent inflammation (potentially damaging immune system hyperactivity).
  • Keep Up on Cold and Flu Germs. Colds are most infectious during the first two to four days people are infected. And you can’t outrun their germs: droplets from sneezes can travel at a velocity of 45 miles per hour and cover a distance of 10 feet.  Wash your hands and face regularly; when soap and water is not available use Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes to kill bacteria on your hands.
  •  Don’t Touch Your Face. Most cold viruses are spread by contact with surfaces through "self-inoculation" when hands pick up cold viruses, and then touch the nose or eyes to start an infection. In fact, a study of kids showed that a program to discourage touching the face reduced colds by nearly half.
If you're not familiar with Wet Ones, they are a great alternative when you don't have soap and water available. They are an effective way to keep your hands clean and to help prevent the spread of germs. The are proven to be just as effective as gel hand sanitizers in killing 99.99 percent of germs, but also clean better as they wipe away dirt and messes without drying the skin. For more information, you can visit www.wetones.com.

I never knew how important these are until I had a toddler. I can't leave the house without them anymore.

This might look after the issue, fairly efficiently.
Double pane windows likewise stay a great option. This isn't used in a home environment, merely in organizations having
