The First Years Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat Review & Giveaway

When I'm shopping for baby gear, toys, etc...the most important thing to me is keeping my kids safe, healthy and happy. That's why I love the selection of great products that The First Years offers parents with young children. They're dedicated to providing parents a complete line of products for those early stages in a child's development. Whether it's toys, feeding, potty and bath products or sleep and travel gear...they have it all!
The First Years brand recently announced that they have been recognized by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety with a 'Best Bet' rating for its own Pathway B570 Booster Seat! This is great news and a very exciting achievement. For those who aren't familiar with the IIHS, they are an independent, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization dedicated to preventing motor vehicle crashes and reducing injuries. They recognize booster seat models that best provide a good lap and shoulder belt fit in a range of vehicles.

When asked if I'd like to review the Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat, I happily said yes! After reading about some of the features, I was looking forward to checking it out!

When the booster car seat arrived and I pulled it out of the box I was immediately impressed with the quality. I've seen many booster car seats that do not have near the padding this one does.
The deep contoured headrest not only seems comfortable for Kaelyn, but more importantly, has been developed to control a child's head in the event of a crash. The shape helps contain and control a child's head on impact. It is comforting to know this and that side impact testing is standard for all of The First Years' seats, tested to Australian standards which are the most stringent standards for this type of testing.

I love that there are so many features which make this a great booster car seat to grow with a child, fitting them safely and securely every step of the way. There's the flexibility to adjust the shoulder belt path up to 1.5" so your child will be comfortable and secure every time he/she is in it! To do this, you just simply push the yellow button and move the belt path to position 1, 2, or 3 so that the seat belt is centered on the child's shoulder. It's that easy!


The lap belt position has even been adjusted for a more comfortable and better fit. We simply run the lap belt through the belt path and make sure that it's snug and laying where it should be on Kaelyn's lap.

Another great way to make sure it fits children of all sizes is that the back adjusts to six different positions. By simply pushing in on the yellow headrest handles on the sides you can pull up or push down to get it perfectly positioned for your child.

The following pictures give you an idea of what the adjustable back is like. No matter what the position, there's a special no gap back which gives better torso protection.

I also love several things about the Pathway Booster Car Seat which make it very convenient for parents. The fact that it has a self adjusting back means that there are no issues with installing it in any back seat. This is great for us, as Kaelyn's car seat gets switched from our SUV to my hubby's truck often. I also like the fact that when the seat is not in use, the lower anchor attachments keep it secure. This is an added safety benefit for all passengers in the car and something I really appreciate.

With spills and crumbs, we find we have to wash our kids' car seats quite often. Thanks to The First Years, the Pathway Booster Seat couldn't be easier to clean. It not only has Easy Off Pads, but also two removable cups for easy cleaning!



Oh, and did I mention that like all booster seats from The First Years, this one has the patented one-hand fold, making storage and moving from car to car easy and stress-free?! I love this feature, as we have had to leave Kaelyn's car seat with grandparents when she's visiting, etc and it's great to have something that's foldable and so compact! There's even a built-in carry handle.

By lifting this green handle located on the bottom of the back side of the car seat, the seat folds up quickly and easily.
Overall we're very happy with the Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat! We love how safe and secure it is and that it's something that will comfortably grow with her for years to come! I really appreciate the thought that went into making this such a safe seat for children. The quality is outstanding and I know it's something that will last us a long time. I would recommend checking it out if you're in need of a good quality booster car seat for a child in your life.
