Costume Express Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, September 20, 2010

With Halloween just over a month away, many of us are in search of the perfect costumes for our little ones. If you're like me, you probably skip searching the racks of overpriced costumes in the stores and go straight to shopping online. Not only does this allow me to browse on my own time, but I have found that it's the best way to find variety and prices that won't break the bank. I was especially impressed when introduced to Costume Express.

With the desire to help busy people celebrate life's special moments, Celebrate Express offers party supplies and costumes all in one convenient location. They currently operate four brands you may be familiar with: Celebrate Express, Birthday Express, 1st Wishes, and Costume Express. Costume Express is so much more than just a costume site. Aside from their 4,000 costumes to choose from, they also have costume party supplies, a large selection of accessories, and Halloween decorations!

As I browsed Costume Express for the first time, I was very happy with how user-friendly it is. With 4,000+ costumes available, I expected it to be a bit overwhelming, but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. There are labels conveniently placed along the top and side that make searching for costumes and other Halloween items a piece of cake.

I was very excited to learn that I was going to have the opportunity to review a costume. I headed straight for the baby and toddler costumes. Since Kaelyn gets a lot more use out of costumes than Kaden, not only with Halloween, but also her love for dress-up play...I decided to go with the Future Doctor Infant/Toddler Costume for her.

Features:

  • Pale green scrubs (shirt and pants)
  • White lab coat
  • Toy stethoscope
  • Cap
  • Black Doctor's Bag
  • Toy shot
As Kaelyn gets older, she is more interested in pretend play. Lately I've noticed that she is especially into pretending that she is a doctor. I love seeing her little imagination at work! I had a feeling this costume would be a big hit the moment she saw it...and I was right!!

When it arrived, she immediately asked me if she could try it on. As I took it out of the package, I was impressed with all that was included. Selling for just $24.99, I thought it was great that it not only had the costume, but the accessories to go with it. Many costume sites offer the costumes and accessories separate, so I thought this was fantastic!

The white lab coat is absolutely adorable! What really makes the outfit is "Dr. Q.T. Patootie" printed on the front! It's not only cute, but also makes it more realistic.

The green scrubs are great. They're very soft, lightweight and comfortable. Kaelyn was especially excited to try these on...as she's seen my mom in her scrubs many times. Of course she was in love with the idea of looking like her Grammy!

There's a cap to go along with the outfit which makes it look very real as well. I love that there's Velcro on the back so it's easier to get it fitted securely to a child's head.

As I said, Kaelyn has really been into playing 'doctor'. She's always asking us if she can 'listen to our heart' which is why the toy accessories were a huge hit! She loves putting the stethoscope on and 'checking our hearts'.

She also enjoys the toys shot and when she's done, always makes sure everything gets put back into the roomy Doctor's bag. I was surprised how nice it was! I expected something kind of cheapy, but this bag is an item I know will last us through Halloween and beyond! It is a great size for trick or treating and putting candy in.

I am very impressed with the Future Doctor Costume. It's high quality, adorable, and something that can be worn for both Halloween and play. If you have a little one who enjoys 'being Doctor', this is an outfit I would highly recommend!

The Future Doctor Costume is just one of many that Costume Express offers. As I browsed their site I found so many for infants, toddlers...even adult costumes! The selection is amazing and their prices are great. If you're still on the hunt for great costumes this Halloween, you may want to consider Costume Express.
