Over time, I've noticed that Kaelyn's favorite television shows are the ones that include catchy music and get her up and dancing. I have to admit, these are the types of shows I even enjoy watching with her! Our whole family has really enjoyed Let's Hear It for The Laurie Berkner Band. Kaelyn enjoys dancing along and doing the different motions. She has even started to try and sing along with some of the songs. Kaden also seems very interested and claps along during the songs. I really like how short each of the songs are. They're long enough to get kids involved, but short enough to keep their attention. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the dance and sing along type of children's shows. I am so glad we have this as part of our children's DVD library.

When I'm shopping for baby gear, toys, etc...the most important thing to me is keeping my kids safe, healthy and happy. That's why I love the selection of great products that The First Years offers parents with young children. They're dedicated to providing parents a complete line of products for those early stages in a child's development. Whether it's toys, feeding, potty and bath products or sleep and travel gear...they have it all!
The First Years brand recently announced that they have been recognized by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety with a 'Best Bet' rating for its own Pathway B570 Booster Seat! This is great news and a very exciting achievement. For those who aren't familiar with the IIHS, they are an independent, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization dedicated to preventing motor vehicle crashes and reducing injuries. They recognize booster seat models that best provide a good lap and shoulder belt fit in a range of vehicles.
When asked if I'd like to review the Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat, I happily said yes! After reading about some of the features, I was looking forward to checking it out!

When the booster car seat arrived and I pulled it out of the box I was immediately impressed with the quality. I've seen many booster car seats that do not have near the padding this one does.
The deep contoured headrest not only seems comfortable for Kaelyn, but more importantly, has been developed to control a child's head in the event of a crash. The shape helps contain and control a child's head on impact. It is comforting to know this and that side impact testing is standard for all of The First Years' seats, tested to Australian standards which are the most stringent standards for this type of testing.
I love that there are so many features which make this a great booster car seat to grow with a child, fitting them safely and securely every step of the way. There's the flexibility to adjust the shoulder belt path up to 1.5" so your child will be comfortable and secure every time he/she is in it! To do this, you just simply push the yellow button and move the belt path to position 1, 2, or 3 so that the seat belt is centered on the child's shoulder. It's that easy!
The lap belt position has even been adjusted for a more comfortable and better fit. We simply run the lap belt through the belt path and make sure that it's snug and laying where it should be on Kaelyn's lap.
Another great way to make sure it fits children of all sizes is that the back adjusts to six different positions. By simply pushing in on the yellow headrest handles on the sides you can pull up or push down to get it perfectly positioned for your child.
The following pictures give you an idea of what the adjustable back is like. No matter what the position, there's a special no gap back which gives better torso protection.
I also love several things about the Pathway Booster Car Seat which make it very convenient for parents. The fact that it has a self adjusting back means that there are no issues with installing it in any back seat. This is great for us, as Kaelyn's car seat gets switched from our SUV to my hubby's truck often. I also like the fact that when the seat is not in use, the lower anchor attachments keep it secure. This is an added safety benefit for all passengers in the car and something I really appreciate.
With spills and crumbs, we find we have to wash our kids' car seats quite often. Thanks to The First Years, the Pathway Booster Seat couldn't be easier to clean. It not only has Easy Off Pads, but also two removable cups for easy cleaning!
Oh, and did I mention that like all booster seats from The First Years, this one has the patented one-hand fold, making storage and moving from car to car easy and stress-free?! I love this feature, as we have had to leave Kaelyn's car seat with grandparents when she's visiting, etc and it's great to have something that's foldable and so compact! There's even a built-in carry handle.
By lifting this green handle located on the bottom of the back side of the car seat, the seat folds up quickly and easily.
Overall we're very happy with the Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat! We love how safe and secure it is and that it's something that will comfortably grow with her for years to come! I really appreciate the thought that went into making this such a safe seat for children. The quality is outstanding and I know it's something that will last us a long time. My computer is something I use on a daily basis. As a blogging mom, I find that if I'm gone for a long length of time, chances are, my laptop goes with me. As I opened the bag, I couldn't believe how much space it has. Not only does it have a protective compartment for my laptop (which fits most 15" laptops) that I LOVE...

Once we decided to do a Wizard of Oz theme for the kids' Halloween costumes this year I knew I wanted to find Kaelyn a cute Dorothy costume. The Toddler Dorothy Costume was not only adorable, but unique from any of the others I've seen. I couldn't have been happier when I learned we were going to have the opportunity to review it!
Kaelyn has been talking about getting to be Dorothy for Halloween since August. She's very excited to get all dressed up and has been wearing around her 'dorothy shoes' we got her for weeks! I knew she'd be thrilled when she saw the Toddler Dorothy Costume arrive, and I was right. In fact, she wanted to try it on right then and there. Of course, I couldn't resist...I was just as excited to see it and how it fit.
As I pulled it out of the package, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Unlike some of the costumes I've passed by in the stores, this one is made very well. I can see this lasting us a very long time...something that will not only bring fun on Halloween, but also hours of dress-up play!
I absolutely love all the cute features that make this Dorothy Costume so different from the others I've seen. It features a blue gingham check dress with an attached petticoat. The dress has a built-in apron and front with a lace-up bodice.
When Kaelyn put it on, I loved it even more! It's perfect, and best of all, Kaelyn adores it! She went and put on her ruby red slippers right away and didn't want to take it off.
We are so happy with this costume and can't wait for her to be able to wear it trick-or-treating this year. I will definitely be checking out CostumeSuperCenter.com in the future, and would recommend taking a look if you're still on the hunt for great Halloween costumes as well.

Almost every child loves hearing the words 'Mickey Mouse'. Growing up I was the same way! From the time Kaelyn was very young, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has been a favorite television show around our house. It's a wholesome cartoon, and one I don't have to worry about her watching. It never fails to hold her interest and whether she knows it or not, while having fun...she's also learning throughout the entire thing! To find a great show for children that is interactive, educational and fun-filled is not always easy, that's why I was excited to learn that we were going to have the opportunity to review Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally.
I had a feeling Kaelyn would be thrilled to see this movie, and I was right! The moment she saw the bright, colorful cover, she was begging to watch it! I have to admit that even I was excited to see it...as an adult I still love Mickey and Minnie. She grabbed her Mickey Mouse and was glued as she joined Mickey and his pals on this exciting, brand-new, full-length adventure from Walt Disney Home Entertainment.
In Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally, viewers are taken on a voyage through sandy deserts, snow-covered mountains and lush tropical jungles as Mickey and the rest of the lovable Clubhouse gang: Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Daisy, etc. participate in the first annual Road Rally. It's engaging and fun to watch as they make their way along the course.
I love the fact that through the pit stops, break downs and mess-ups along the way, Mickey 
Mouse and his pals made it a priority to help each other and enjoy the spirit of competition. Through all sorts of obstacles, including a mountain of rubber duckies, a sand covered road, and a broken down bridge...they stick together as they set an example for little ones about what being a good friend, and a good sport, is all about.
We had a lot of fun watching the never-before-seen bonus episode, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Pluto Lends a Paw also. There is also a great Discovery Mode Interactive Play feature which helps to engage kids to watch and play alongside their favorite Disney characters while teaching colors, shapes, sizes as well as helping them remember what has happened so far. Using the remote made it really easy for us to answer the questions together with Kaelyn. Discovery Mode 1 is for ages 2-3 and Discovery Mode 2 is for ages 4-5 with higher level thinking questions.
As with our past Mickey Mouse Clubhouse experiences, we were not disappointed. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally has been a fantastic addition to our children's dvd collection and is one I know we will be able to enjoy as a family time after time.

Our daughter has always been a pretty sound sleeper. Ever since she was a baby, there could be noise going on around her and she'd continue to sleep right through it. I could tell right away that this machine is very durable. Although lightweight, it's made well and I know is something that will last us a very long time.
Of course I couldn't wait to see what it sounded like. I plugged it in and turned it on to find a very soothing, consistent sound of rushing air (also referred to as 'white noise'). Not only could I control the speed, but also the tone and volume of the sound. By simply rotating the 'cap' (which is the top piece) and the 'collar' (on the sides) I could increase or decrease the sound to a level that is best suited for Kaden.
We have been using it in Kaden's room and really think it's been helping him sleep more soundly, especially during his naptime when everyone is up and making noise. We even tried it in our bedroom one night to see what we thought, and both my husband and I were impressed with how well it diminishes surrounding noises to help us sleep better without any distractions.
