Revisit Simple ~ Yoreganics Review and Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, April 12, 2010

It wasn't until after I had children that I realized the need for using safer products in our home. I became more aware of the hazardous chemicals in the cleaning products we were using and was determined to find a safer way to clean. I am so happy I turned to more natural cleaners! It helps put my mind at ease knowing that my family is not being exposed to all toxins in so many products on the market today!! I am always looking to learn more about natural cleaning products and brands, and was thrilled when contacted by Kim Mendes to test out her 'Laundry by Mother Nature' products by Yoreganics!

Struggling with chronic pain throughout her body, Kim turned to alternative options. Not only did it help to heal her pain, but she learned a great deal. After researching the dangerous effects that toxic cleaning products have on our health and environment, she launched a line of organic laundry and personal care products. Yoreganics is a reflection of the days of yore, long ago, when life was simple and cleaning was natural. It is her mission to encourage others to live happier, healthier and greener lives too.

We were sent samples of her "Laundry by Mother Nature": Organic Soap Nuts, Stain Remover, Brightens & Whitens, and Simplemint Lip Balm.

When they arrived on our door step, I couldn't wait to test them out! With two young children, we know all about stains, messes and of course...laundry! It's a daily occurrence around our house, so I was able to try them right away.

The Soap Nuts are dried fruit berries from northern India and Nepal. Their shells contain saponin which creates a natural soap when agitated in water. They not only help to clean, but also soften and remove odors from laundry. Having never used anything like them before, I had to read the directions and make sure I was using them correctly. It was a piece of cake. All I had to do was leave a few in the bag, tie it shut, and throw it in the washer with the clothes. I wasn't sure how well this would actually clean them, but to my surprise they came out as clean as ever! Not only did they look clean, but they smelled it too. No chemical smells...just fresh clean clothes! Those who use cloth diapers especially also love Soap Nuts because they remove odors and restore absorbency without the use of any chemicals.

I love the fact that the Soap Nuts get our clothes clean and does so naturally. They are hypoallergenic, certified organic, economical, non-toxic, antimicrobial which makes them perfect for customers with skin sensitives like allergies, eczema and psoriasis. The fact that they are sustainable and biodegradable is also a huge plus!

The Stain Remover also works great. With two kids we're always trying to get stains of some sort out. We've used it on fresh stains like potty accidents, spit up, food messes, and more...and it truly does work to take the stains out! Made of USDA certified organic ingredients with a fresh citrus scent makes it my number one choice for stain remover now! I just love it.

We also have used the Brightens & Whitens which help to remove stubborn set-in stinks and stains. From what we can tell, it seems to really help as well! It's made to help with stains and smells from things like coffee, tea, wine, berries, mascara, eggs, urine, and so much more!

With the dry weather we were having not all that long ago, Kaelyn and I were both happy we had the Simplemint lip balm to try. I love having the opportunity to be introduced to personal care products like this that are USDA certified organic!

What I love about Yoreganics and the products we were able to try, is not only that they are safe for my family, but they are also go along ways. The sample bag of Soap Nuts we received is made to last 4-6 loads (which is good considering the size), and the Stain Remover, Brighten Whitens and Lip Balm will definitely last us a long time!

Having used each of these products, I am sold. They're safe, economical and effective, who could ask for anything more?! I'd love to try the Foaming Soap by Yoreganics sometime too.
