BARBAR Eco 8000 Blow Dryer Review

Posted by Jenna | Monday, January 04, 2010

As a busy stay at home mom, I don't have a lot of time to spend putting myself together each morning. I'm lucky if I get a shower and my hair dried by the time my kids wake up. For the longest time, I was using an old hair dryer which wasn't doing the trick...it took me forever to dry my hair in the morning. That's why I was excited to learn more about BARBAR and their fantastic line of hair care products...specifically their high quality blow dryers!

I was sent their BARBAR Eco 8000 Blow Dryer to review and it's unlike any I've ever used before. It is an eco-friendly blow dryer that saves electricity and outputs a very low EMF (radiation) by using a ceramic heating element instead of a coil heating element which is what standard dryers have. The ceramic heating element also lasts 5x longer than a coil one.

Here are some features of the BARBAR Ceramic Eco 8000:
* Air Flow 31-35 M/S
* AC Motor
* Negates radiation
* Cool shot release button
* 11-foot professional cord
* 1000 WATTS (blow power comparable to 1600 WATTS)
* Heat 266 F
* Saves electricity
* Multiple heat & speed settings

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review this blow dryer. When it arrived in the mail my first thought was what an attractive and sleek look it has. I've had the opportunity to use it several times since receiving it...and I have to say that I love it! I really like the multiple heat and speed settings. It definitely blow dries my hair more quickly than the old one I used which makes getting ready in the morning so much easier.

I also found that it gave my hair a smoother look...not frizzy like with my old one. This was great, because it meant less time spent with the straightener and other hair products I typically use. It's also fairly quiet, which is important for anyone who needs those few extra minutes each morning to get ready before the kids wake up. My old dryer was quite loud and often woke them up...so this is something else I really like and appreciate about it! Another great feature is that it's eco-friendly and outputs very little radiation. I was shocked to learn that most standard 1800 watt blow dryers output as much radiation as a microwave!

I do wish that it was a bit lighter, but it's not extremely heavy either which is good. It's just something I am still getting used to, as my old one was smaller and lighter in weight.

If you're looking for an eco-friendly blow dryer that's good quality and makes getting ready each morning a little easier, than the BARBAR Eco 8000 is definitely one you should look into. Overall, I've been very happy with it!

    I wish I could afford a better dryer...this one looks amazing!!! AN 11 foot cord so people wouldnt get strangeled trying to walk around me in the bathroom!
    I dont know how the would make one to "negate" radiation, but that would be a big selling point. I have been to docs who said so many of our appliances like this are giving off too much radiation. You should just HEAR my dryer...sounds like a bad starter in a car! I cringe it's gonna go on me any second!!
    Shoulda asked for one from Santa I guess...

    Thanks for the review, I am looking!!
