Piggy Paint Review

Posted by Jenna | Friday, May 22, 2009

With Summer nearing and sandal weather in sight, I see more and more little girls with their fingernails and toes painted! I think it's simply adorable! I have always thought it would be fun to paint Kaelyn's little piggies....but have never brought myself to buy the polish as I stop short thinking about the toxic chemicals in nail polishes and how I don't want those being put on my little girl! I do my best to live as "green" as possible. That's why I was thrilled when I was recently introduced to an eco-friendly nail polish called Piggy Paint (their motto actually being "Natural as Mud")!! It's kid-friendly, non-toxic, free of harsh chemicals like formaldehyde, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone, and it's odorless!! How great is that?!? Made from water and other natural ingredients, I am comforted to know that this is not only safe to use on my daughter's little piggies, but it's also safe for the environment!!

When my sample of the Girls Rule Piggy Paint arrived, I was very excited to use it and see if it lived up to the great advertisements I've read. Lets just say I was more than impressed! I have always been VERY sensitive to chemical smells of all kinds...so the fact that this Piggy Paint is truly odorless was wonderful! I wasn't sure how Kaelyn would do having her little nails painted for the first time, but she did great!! The fingernail polish dried fairly quickly, and even with 1-2 coats looked very vibrant! She walked around looking down at her toes with a big smile on her face!

We were also sent their nail polish remover....also eco-friendly, non-toxic, and made from natural ingredients! It was great knowing that not only the polish that I used was safe for my daughter, but the nail polish remover was as well! It worked very well in removing the Piggy Paint quickly and safely!

I have been wanting to paint her nails for quite some time, and I have to say it was a lot of fun knowing that the products we were using were non-toxic and safe! It was great bonding time, and as the Piggy Paint website points out....Piggy Paint can be used as a learning tool to help children in learning their colors, patterns, and even developing those fine motor skills!

I would strongly recommend Piggy Paint to anyone who is looking for a non-toxic and safer option to paint those little fingers and toes in your life (even great for adults too)! The product works as it says it will...and more than anything....it gives parents peace of mind to know that we are using the safest products with our children as possible!
