Hershey's KISSES Sweetest Memories ~ Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I don't eat a lot of sweets, but my one weakness is chocolate! My hubby knows this, many times when he runs to the store to pick something up...he surprises me by picking up a Hershey's Chocolate Bar or a bag of Hershey's KISSES. What can I say....I love Hershey's chocolate!! That's why I was excited to learn that Hershey recently opened the doors of a new state-of-the-art factory in West Hershey, PA. To celebrate, they want to hear about favorite memories that include their iconic KISSES!

I don't know about you, but I have many that come to mind. When asked what my absolutely sweetest Hershey's KISSES memory was though, it took no time at all to remember it. Growing up I was very close with both sets of grandparents. They didn't live far away from us and I got to see them quite often. There are special things I remember about both, however...a very special memory with my Dad's mom is very near and dear to my heart AND includes KISSES!

As I said, we would visit our Grandparents' often and each time we visited Grandma S. we knew that she would have a treat for us. It was something we looked forward to every single time! We would walk in the door and run to her kitchen where she had a birds nest sitting with a bird on it. Under that bird always laid a treat for each of us kids. What was it you ask?! Hershey's KISSES!

No matter how old we got, my brothers and I always looked forward to this little treat that my Grandma had waiting for us. It may have been small, but the thoughtfulness that went behind it meant so much. I love having this memory of her now that she has passed away, and it's neat that Hershey's KISSES are a part of that memory that I will never forget. It is something that I'd one day like to do for my grandkids as well...a tradition to be passed down.
How about you? Do you have a sweetest Hershey's KISSES memory? Hershey's would like to know and is giving away four bags of chocolates to one lucky reader!

WIN IT: To enter, simply leave a comment letting me know your sweetest/favorite Hershey's KISSES memory!

This giveaway will end February 22nd and is open to US Only

I remember when I was in elementary school that I won a giant sized Hershey kiss as part of the Valentines celebration. I can remember getting home and me and my brother getting out a knife to chop off pieces to eat. Then I remember the disappointment when we found out that this giant Hershey kiss was actually hollow. This was especially troubling for my brother because there was no longer enough chocolate for me to share!!!

A few weeks before Christmas, I bought Hershey’s Kisses for a cookie recipe, when I began to make them, I discovered the Hershey’s Kisses were gone. My hubby ate them, so he had to get me more, lol :)

My favorite Hershey Kiss memory is helping my mom bake cookies at Christmas. I would unwrap all the Kisses while she made the cookie dough. I would twist the Kisses onto the cookies just after they were removed from the oven. Some fell on the floor which were okay for me to eat but not put in the cookies, couldn't serve those to the guests!

The best memory – when I gave my grandson his first hershey kiss when he was about 2 1/2 years old. He fell in love with it immediately!

Many years ago at work someone would anonymously leave a Hershey Kiss on my desk. It made me smile and I never found out who it was.

My sweetest memory with hershey kisses is when I was pregnant. I used to hide a big bag of hershey kisses under my bed & munch on them at night.

My favorite Hershey Kisses memory was last Valentines day when I put some kisses on the counter and told my kids that we were starting the day with a 'kiss'. Once they realized I meant the candy, they were soooo excited!! lol

I remember receiving one of those giant Hershey Kiss filled candy canes every year at Christmas. There is nothing better than cracking that candy cane open to dig into the chocolate, and nothing worse than realizing you have just eaten the last piece. asotv@aol.com

Years ago in grade school. The teacher stated at his desk that he was going to give a kiss to his favorite student. (He gave a Hershey's kiss to his favorite student.) He walked all around the seats for a couple of minutes , a full classroom. He did not pick me.
    Carol K got picked.

That would have to be when I was a kid, my dalmatian got into my Valentines candy and ate an ENTIRE bag of Hershey's Kisses. Wrappers and all! We were so worried because dogs aren't supposed to eat chocolate and she ate the wrappers too! Well about a half hour after the incident, she promptly threw up all of the tin foil and wrappers. Turns out she was just fine! It was a happy day! So much for dogs not eating chocolate!
