Flattering & Stylish Swimsuits ~ Essential Swimwear Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, August 16, 2012

One of our favorite things to do during the summer months is spend time in the pool. The kids love the water and I love being able to spend quality time as a family enjoying the warm weather while it lasts. The part that I don't like so much is finding a swimsuit! With each year that passes I dislike swimsuit shopping more and more. It's difficult to find something that's stylish and fits well, covering me in all the places I want to be covered...all at a reasonable price. That's why I appreciate Essential Swimwear!

Frustrated with expensive prices, wrong fits and the hassle of searching online for hours, Brittney became discouraged and came to the conclusion that there was not a perfect swimsuit out there. It was at that moment that she thought to create her own swimsuit. After a lot of trial and error, she began creating swimsuits that were comfortable, stylish and flattering! As she made suits for her friends and family....word got out and she ended up being able to design a line of swimsuits for the 2010 season. To keep up with the demand and ensure good quality, Brittney no longer hand-makes the swimsuits. However, she still offers the styles, designs and prices that fit the needs of women!
If you've been a follower here for a while, you know I'm a big fan of Essential Swimwear! I have had the pleasure of reviewing a couple of their swimsuits in the past and am always impressed not only with the quality, but also the style and flattering fit! That's why I couldn't have been more excited to learn I was going to have the opportunity to review another of their great suits for the 2012 summer season.

I was sent the Blue Speedway Gathered Top and Blue Front Seam Bottoms.
When the swimsuit arrived on my doorstep, I was really excited to check it out. As I pulled it out of the package, I was already impressed with the quality and style. I absolutely love the colors, striped design, and unique style of this swimsuit. Now I was just hoping it looked as good on as it did out of the package!

As always I was a little nervous about trying on the swimsuit, but went ahead and did it anyways. Thankfully, I was very happy with the way this swimsuit fit! I love it!! The Blue Speedway Gathered Top is a great length. I don't want anything that's going to ride up and expose my stomach, so having something a bit longer is great! I can easily play with my kids in the pool, even when they're pulling on me, without having to worry that it's going to move around and expose skin I don't want to show.
The same goes for the bust area. There's elastic supports above and below the bust to ensure zero unwanted movement, and I've found this to be true! I have had no problems with the bust area moving around at all! The halter straps also help, as they tie so I can fit them to myself perfectly.

Aside from the great fit, I also LOVE the style of this suit! I am very happy with the ruching at the bust area. It adds interest to the suit and pulls the eye upward which I like. It really gives it a unique, flattering touch which I appreciate a lot! It also gathers down the bodice of the suit which flatters the entire upper body. The extra long length makes it possible to gather as much or as little as you like, making this a great swimsuit choice for almost any figure. I love it!!

I have liked the bottoms just as well. The Blue Front Seam Bottoms are a new style. The leg cut is medium and the seam (instead of being on the side), is more toward the front to make your hips and legs look more narrow. This is probably my favorite part about the bottoms, as who doesn't want their hips and legs to look more narrow?! I also appreciate the medium coverage, it's just enough to be flattering without showing too much. I'm comfortable in them when in the water with my kids and that's most important.

Overall I've been thrilled with this tankini from Essential Swimwear. I've had the opportunity to wear it several times and still can't believe I've found a swimsuit I'm so comfortable in. I think it's flattering and covers me well where I need to be covered. My husband even told me it's his new favorite swimsuit of mine! I look forward to wearing it the rest of the summer, on our upcoming vacation to the waterpark, and for many summers to come.

If you're looking for reasonably priced, high quality, stylish and flattering swimsuit...I would definitely recommend checking out Essential Swimwear!
