Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber ~ Review & Giveaway

Whether it's playing in our yard, hanging out at the park or doing something else...during the spring and summer months, most of our time is spent outdoors. Afterall, being cooped up in the house all winter long makes it a much appreciated and needed opportunity to spend as much time in the warmth and getting to run around outside as much as we can. Most days are spent in our yard, which means I'm always looking for fun things the kids can do together...toys and activities that keep them active, things that spark their curiosity and allow them to engage in imaginative play, etc. Thankfully, I know I can always count on Step2 for great outdoors toys that will do just that!

With Spring officially here now, and the temps warming up into the 70's most days, we have been enjoying getting outside and enjoying the outdoor toys. It has been even more fun this year, since receiving the Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber to review as a Step2 Test Drive Mom.

When the Naturally Playful Woodland Climber arrived, I couldn't help but wonder how long it would take to put together.
Thankfully, after laying out the pieces and looking through the instruction manual, hubby and I found that there was very little assembly required. In no more than 10 minutes, we had the climber put together and ready to use! As busy parents of three little ones, this was much appreciated.

Once the climber was put together, I was immediately drawn to the natural look of it. I love the natural colors and realistic textures. Not only is it attractive, but it also blends in nicely in our yard. It's something that would look great in any residential setting! We've already received several compliments on how nice it looks in our backyard.
Another great thing about this kids climber, like all Step2 products we've come across...is that it's made to last. The materials used are durable and I can tell will withstand a lot of use and weather. As a parent with three little ones who will use this for many years, I appreciate this very much.

Of course, I wasn't able to check it out long before the kids wanted to try it out. Who could blame them?! I would have loved this as a child!!

Kaelyn and Kaden both climbed up to the 27in high platform of the Naturally Playful Woodland Climber. I was amazed with how sturdy it is, even with both of them hopping around and playing up there. It gives me piece of mind that they're safe when on it.
One of the kids' favorite things to do on the climber is use the rotating steering wheels. Since there are two of them who like to play on this at the same time, I really like that there are TWO. What I thought would just be a fun toy to keep them active while outdoors, has turned into so.much.more! Their imaginations run wild with this climber and it's really neat to see. They love pretending they're on a pirate ship as they turn the steering wheels or play house in the large area below the climber.

Speaking of the area below...this is a terrific space for sand if you would like your kids to have a sandbox. So far we've left it open because like I said, the kids really enjoy using it as their "playhouse". If it were a sandbox though, I could see it being very nice since there are edges they could sit on while playing. There are just so many possibilities.
Something else both the kids and I really like, is the slide. I have seen climbers in the past that have tiny slides...almost too short and small for even my two year old. It was nice to see that this chute-like slide is longer and big enough for both my 2 and 4 year old. They LOVE it! They love how fast they are able to go down it.
As for getting up on the climber, there are a few options that have proven to be a lot of fun for the kids. At 2 years old, Kaden prefers the ladder, which has large steps for him to easily climb.

There's also climbing foot holds on each side of the climber as well though. Kaelyn especially loves these, as they're more challenging and fun for her. It took a while for her to get the hang of it, but she loves it! There seems to be plenty of space for her feet, making it safe for her to climb. It looks very realistic with the rocky-like textures and Kaelyn often tells me that she's climbing a mountain. :)
As you can tell, we've thoroughly enjoyed the Naturally Playful Woodland Climber from Step2! The quality is fantastic, and the overall fun and appeal are exactly what I would expect from a name like Step2. The kids have had so much fun getting active and using their imaginations as they engage in pretend play. It has already provided hours of fun, and I know...with a whole season of nice weather ahead of us...this will get a lot of use, not just this year...but many years to come!
