Holiday Gift Guide 2011 #2: Quote The Walls Review & Giveaway (2 Winners!)

Since moving into our new home I have really enjoyed decorating it, especially with pieces I consider to be unique and one of a kind. I like for the decor I use to not only be warm and inviting, but also something that adds a personal touch to each room conveying who we are and the things that are important to us. That's why I love Quote The Walls and the opportunity they give to really make a house feel like a home.

A family owned business, Quote The Walls is run by a husband and wife team. When searching for quotes for their daughter's room, they found that companies either charged way too much money or would not make custom wall quotes. That's when it became their goal to make quotes for people that affordable and custom if they wish.

When I first came across Quote The Walls I was not only impressed with their affordable prices, but also the variety of quotes offered. With everything from bathroom quotes and bedroom quotes to laundry quotes, spiritual quotes and more...there is sure to be something that suits most everyone's needs. And, best of all...if you can't quite find what you're looking for, they love to do a custom orders as well! I personally love this one as it seems like the story of my life sometimes. :)

Having just moved into our home, I have been busy decorating and personalizing it. That's why I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one of Quote the Wall's quotes.

As I browsed their website, I was amazed with their large selection of quotes. There are so many unique ideas that would go perfectly in our home. I was searching for a quote that would go especially well above the doorway that goes into our kitchen. It's a place that people see when they come in our front door or our back door, as well as from many areas of the house. With that in mind, I searched through all of the quotes and had one stand out to me right away.

Our walls in that area of the house are a dark tan. I decided to go with the matte brown as I thought that would look best with the rest of our decor and furniture. When the quote arrived, I was so happy I went with that color. It goes perfectly! I was also really happy with the size. I couldn't have asked for a better fit on the doorway!

The nice thing about vinyl words is that they can be applied virtually anywhere to provide the look of hand painted, professional lettering without the expense and time. I was really excited to see the final result and couldn't wait to get started!

Since my husband was out of town, I asked my mom to come over and help me hang it. Not only is it nice to have a second set of eyes to make sure it's straight and centered, but being 9 months pregnant, I thought it was best to have her up on the chair hanging it rather than me. :)

The process went very smoothly, and in no time we had the quote hung. To start, we took the wall quote and positioned it on the wall where we wanted it. Once we had it centered, we used a level on the words to make sure it was straight. After that, we simply peeled the back off, flipped the letters over and rubbed the letters with a flat scrapper (which was included) to make sure all bubbles were out. We then slowly peeled back the top layer from the top corner and made sure the letters were adhering to the wall.
It didn't take long, and soon we had a beautiful wall quote. It really does look hand painted with the matte finish, which I love! The size is just perfect, as it's large enough to be seen from many rooms, and the color stands out really well too! Best of all, I love the look and the quote itself. It really suits us well and gives our home personality. We have received several compliments on it already.

We have been very happy with the quality and fast shipping and will be recommending Quote The Walls to others we know. In fact, my mom has already ordered several quotes from Quote the Walls and has been equally as happy and impressed.
