VINCI 7-Inch Touchscreen Learning Tablet ~ Review

Posted by Jenna | Monday, October 10, 2011

There are times when we're in the car, at Grandma's, or simply having downtime at home when the kids are looking for something to do. I'm always on the lookout for good quality products that are not only entertaining and fun, but also age appropriate and educational. That's why I couldn't have been happier when introduced to VINCI.
VINCI offers innovative products created especially for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. They have set a new standard for learning by converging developmental science, cutting edge technology and early childhood education to offer safe, fun and inspirational learning experiences for young children.

As I browsed the VINCI website, I was extremely impressed with their dedication to helping children learn in an interactive and age appropriate way. I was especially happy to read more about the VINCI Tab for toddlers, and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one.

Features/Benefits:

  • Handles for little hands
  • Multi-touch 7" Screen for Developing Eyesight and Mind
  • Ultra-Portable, Super-Convenient
  • Baby-Only Applications
  • Media for babies (HD Video, 3MP Camera, etc)
  • Safely-Contained and Long-Lasting Rechargeable Battery
  • No Wifi = minimum radio emissions
  • Housing and handle materials are safe: food or medical grade with no PVC, no latex, no BPA
Both of my kids love playing with my husband's tablet computer, which is why I had a feeling they would love this product. I was right!! The VINCI tab is a mobile touchscreen computer created with a child in mind. Safety is the top priority which is something I greatly appreciate. There are protective soft-corndered handles which use non-toxic medical-grade material. These handles are also perfect for little hands. Both Kaelyn and Kaden can easily hold onto it with no problem at all. The fun red color really catches their interest as well.

Unlike other tablet devices, the VINCI has no WIFI functions (no WIFI/3G/Internet Access). I think there are some people who would like the option of having WIFI, however...I truly appreciate the fact that there is no WIFI function. Not only was the VINCI created without this function for safety concerns...as there is minimal radio emissions because of it, but it's also to help give parents 100% control over protecting children from potentially harmful or undesired Internet content. I have peace of mind knowing there will be no unintended charges for connectivity, downloads etc. and that my children are not being exposed to things they shouldn't be. It's geared specifically towards children which I love!

The VINCI Tab is pretty easy to use. My almost 2 year old enjoys exploring with it, but his almost 4 year old sister has caught on to how to navigate and get from one application to the next more easily. It's probably more geared towards ages 3+ in my personal opinion as far as usability is concerned.

As I said though, both of my kids absolutely love the different apps and features the VINCI offers! It's the perfect size for them to hold and use, and the games, music and stories hold their attention well. They have used other tablet devices that are touch screen, so this was something they caught onto quickly. Kaden enjoys the storybooks and music most...and Kaelyn really enjoys the games. I've loved sitting back and watching as they learn through exploration and discovery.

There were a couple of gliches that we found with the VINCI. The screen has froze a couple of times which frustrated the kids if they were in the middle of doing something. After some time it began working again and we never really did figure out why it did this or how to fix it other than letting it sit and come back to it.

There have been a couple of times when it did not seem to be charging either. This gliche also seemed to work itself out as well though. I actually touched base with the kind people from VINCI and was very impressed with how friendly and helpful they were. I could tell it was their goal to make sure that they helped us in any way they could so that my kids could experience VINCI and all it had to offer.

I've been really happy with the VINCI. It's a newer product, so there were a few gliches...but overall I love the whole idea and thought that went into making it such a great piece of technology for young children. It uses the most advanced technology - the Android operating system - which provides hours of interactive learning and entertainment. Although there are not a lot to choose from yet...the engaging games, story books and music videos have really been a highlight for both my 1 year old and 3 year old and help promote their motor, language, social-emotional, and cognitive skills.

Be sure to check out the trailer of the VINCI Tab to see it in action and all that it has to offer.

Buy It: You can purchase the VINCI Tab for $389 on the VINCI website.

Basically, you can only do 5 invoices, 5 proposals, and 5
expenses in the free version. But there is an exception if
the caregiver is your parent. For a common judgment creditor lien to outrank an IRS lien the lien needs to get recorded before the IRS's lien is recorded,
and be a "Choate" lien; which means it is a final lien circumstance, and that lien specifically lists what's attached.
