Baby & Mommy Must-haves Event #2: aden + anais Swaddles Review & Giveaway

Although we still have 9 weeks left until baby #3 arrives, I can't help but think how quickly the next couple of months will go. That's why I've been busy making a list of everything we still need to welcome our little one. Having had two children already, there are items I know we'll need...and others I know we can live without. As we search for the necessities, I keep a few important things in mind... safety, comfort and convenience. Thankfully, aden + anais is well-aware of the needs of new moms, which is why I was so happy when introduced to their great line of products.
As a young woman, Raegan Moya-Jones was introduced to many traditional practices of motherhood in Australia...including swaddling babies in large, gentle muslin sheets. Upon moving to the US and starting her own family, Raegan realized the need for swaddles like the ones she remembered from back home. Swaddles that were large enough, lightweight and attractive. And so, aden + anais was born! Within months of hitting the market, aden + anais swaddles became a big hit...popping up in magazines, on blogs for new mothers, and in stores around the country.

Today, aden + anais has combined muslin with fashion forward design to create a line of baby products that are not only stylish, but also useful and simple. As I think back to when Kaelyn and Kaden were newborns, I remember swaddling them often. Unfortunately, we never had a really great swaddling blanket. They all seemed too thick and/or too small. That's why I was immediately drawn to the Swaddles from aden + anais and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review a set.

We were sent the aden + anais Jungle Jam Swaddle 4 Pack to review.

When the Swaddles arrived, I couldn't wait to check them out! I was immediately impressed with the way they come packaged. Not only was it easy to see what the swaddles looked like right away...but the way they are packaged and presented make them a great option for gift-giving!
Upon pulling them out of the box, I was instantly in love with the adorable prints and colors. Since we have chosen to leave baby #3's gender a surprise, I thought the Jungle Jam Swaddles pack would be perfect, as it's neutral...yet very cute! Each blanket has a different animal on it... a monkey, giraffe, bird and elephant. The overall look of these swaddles are very fashionable and attractive...something I will definitely love using when we're out and about with the baby!

The fabric is also something I noticed and loved right away. All four swaddles are 100% cotton muslin making them very soft and breathable. The fabric is light (which is something I have not been able to find with other swaddles) and the open weave actually allows a baby's body temperature to regulate itself naturally, helping reduce the risk of overheating. It's also made to be gentle on baby's skin, yet durable enough to withstand everyday use. YAY! And...with every wash, they only get more and more soft.

With how quickly babies grow, it's also important that swaddles are large enough. Thankfully the Swaddles from aden + anais couldn't be more perfect. Measuring 47" x 47", each one is extra large and great for swaddling babies of all sizes with ease. They're plenty large enough to even use to cover Kaden. He gets hot easily when he sleeps, and I've found these swaddles to be absolutely perfect for him.


I'm really looking forward to using the swaddles with our new little one in November, and like that they have many other uses as well. They can also be used as burp cloths, a nursing or stroller cover, portable crib sheet, tummy time blanket and so much more! Having such a versatile product is even more of a reason why I consider this to be a must-have for every new and/or expecting mom.
