When I taught preschool, I found it was helpful to have a timer on hand to help keep order in my classroom. The kids had a schedule, so they knew what came next in their day each time the timer buzzed. It really helped structure our day and kept behavior issues to a minimum. Although Kaelyn is not in school yet, I have often thought a timer would come in handy many times throughout the day, which is why I'm thankful for Learning Resources.

When the Time Tracker Mini Visual Timer arrived, I was really looking forward to checking it out.

As I pulled it out of the box, I was very happy with the small size. No matter where we're at...it's the perfect size to have sitting pretty much easier and very easy to take with us if we need to. It's truly a take-anywhere timer that can be used in many different situations!

Once I put the batteries in (not included with the timer), it was time to see what this timer could all do. Thanks to very user-friendly instructions, I found that it couldn't be easier to use! Once the unit is turned on, you can twist the green timer dial to choose the desired duration from 5 minutes to 120 minutes, in 5-minute increments. You can twist the yellow warning dial to set a time for the warning alert as well (which is great for giving children a heads up that the timer will go off soon).

Once the dials are set, simply press the start button. The light dome will turn green, then yellow, then red as it counts down the time (with an alarm sounding that indicates time is up). I love that the 360º view makes it visible from any angle.

The timer also has a volume adjustment dial which supports visual-only timing if you turn it off completely. I could definitely see this feature coming in handy, especially in classrooms.

We have had the opportunity to use the Time Tracker Mini several times, and so far have found it to be a great way to keep Kaelyn on task. It used to be that cleaning her room would take Kaelyn a very long time. Now, with the timer, she knows exactly how much time she has to get it done...and it's almost like a race against the clock and a challenge to see how quickly she can do it. It's definitely made things like that and picking up her toys in the living room a lot more fun. I have even found it helpful during meals to keep the kids eating, rather than playing or wanting to get out of their chairs.

Whether this timer is used at home, or in the classroom...I can definitely see how it would be useful to teachers and parents alike. It's a great size, wonderful quality, and couldn't be easier to use. I've enjoyed having it to use, and know that as the kids get older and are busy with homework, etc...it will come in even more handy.

As a mom of two with another one arriving soon, I know how overwhelming it can be to walk through the baby isles. When the product arrived, I was really pleased with the size. It's generously sized which is perfect for one child or even multiples. The pillow is extremely cushy and something babies and kids of all ages can enjoy.

I also appreciate the soft, adorable fabric. Not only is it neutral...which is perfect since we are choosing to be surprised with the gender of our baby...but it also easily comes off and is machine washable. Having something that is so easy to clean is a must...especially with babies and all the spit up and other messes. I love that much thought was put into creating this product and making it great for babies and parents alike!

Of course, what makes the Playpod so unique, is it's many features. It can be used as an at home or on-the-go lounge and play center to provide hands-free playtime for a newborn all the way up through the early reader age. The tall, cushioned sides and ring design help parents prop up their baby safely, yet it's still large enough to even hold my 2 year old and 4 year old while they read, play and rest.

Kaden enjoys laying in it to look at books, rest, and even watch tv. It's perfect for down time.

Kaelyn on the other hand, loves to sit in it and read her books. It provides the perfect, comfy place to sit back and relax with a good book.

For little ones, there's also three teether tabs which come in very handy for babies who are in that stage of chewing and sucking on toys. The tabs help keep the toys in place.

The Playpod also makes for a great place to store toys. Simply put toys inside, wrap the mat around the ring and voila! It keep toys secure and the carrying handle allows you to easily take it with you if you're on the go.

It's compact design really makes it a convenient product for parents. I can see this coming in especially handy when we're visiting family and friends over the holidays. My kids love it, and I can't wait to use it with our little one too! I know this will be a favorite lounge area for all of my kids for years to come!

Overall I've been very happy with the versatility, quality and overall appeal of the Playpod. I would definitely recommend it to parents with little ones.

I absolutely love summer, but this year our summer season has been a little rough. If it wasn't raining, then it was incredibly hot...almost too hot to even enjoy being outside. Thankfully, the end of August and September have been much nicer. For the most part we've had absolutely perfect weather in the 70's. I sure wish it would stay this way year-round! The kids and I have been enjoying a lot of time outdoors, and even when it gets hot out still...we have a great way to keep cool thanks to Aeromax!

Founded 13 years ago, Aeromax began when President Mark Levine created one product...the Aeromax 2000 Tangle Free Toy parachute. Over the years, the product line has continued to grow, now offering more than 300 (and counting) items.

The first time I came across Aeromax, I was very impressed! Having two little ones, their great range of dress-up clothes especially caught my attention right away. Each time I visit their site, I find new things I know my kids would love. For instance, this is the time of year that the Aeromax Fire Power water shooter comes in very handy. Named Toy of the Year in outdoor Play by Creative Child Toy Awards...the Fire Power is a firefighter inspired backpack that can shoot water up to 30 feet! Talk about fun for all ages! I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one.

When the Fire Power super soaking fire hose with back pack arrived, we couldn't wait to try it out. The kids were really excited too...especially since it allowed them to soak each other outside. :)

As I pulled the contents of the box out, I was happy to see that there was very little assembly. Once I connected the hose (which took seconds), it was ready to use!

The back pack is smaller than I expected which is great. It's the perfect size for kids like Kaelyn, and the fact that the straps are adjustable make it even better!

To fill, there's a small yellow cap that can be removed to put water inside. Once the tank was full, Kaelyn was ready to start fighting fires.

She put on her back pack, grabbed the fire hose and went outside. By simply pumping the hose, the water shoots out. There are 2 super spray settings (single spray or spray) which make it more versatile and fun too. Kaelyn has had the opportunity to use the Fire Power many times and the fun never ceases. She enjoys using it for everything from soaking her brother, to watering the grass and pretending she's putting out fires. I love how it sparks creativity and imagination...it's exactly the type of toy we look for when shopping for our kids. I was amazed how light it is for her to carry, even with water in it. I also was happy with how much water it holds. It can hold up to 60 pumps which has proven to last a long time for lots of outdoor fun!

I have been really impressed with the Fire Power and would recommend it to anyone with younger children.

Whether we're at home, on the go, or visiting a friend or family member...I am always looking for activities that will keep my kids entertained. Kaelyn is getting to an age where she enjoys doing more activities...practicing her letters, numbers, writing, etc. That's why I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the Princesses green start® play, draw, create reusable drawing and magnet kit.

When the play, draw, create kit arrived, Kaelyn was instantly drawn to the fun colors and design. I was happy that right off the bat she was excited to use it and start learning and having fun!

What I noticed and liked right away, was that the creativity kit is very durable. It's printed using only eco-friendly inks and all outer packaging is made from post-consumer recycled materials. It's also very lightweight and compact (perfect for travel)...about the size of a hardcover children's book. There's even a handle which makes taking it in the car or to Grandma's super easy.

Kaelyn was really excited to check it out, and so was I. Upon opening it up, we found on the left was a magnetic dry erase board that comes with 35 magnetic pieces, 5 dry erase markers and an eraser. On the right is a write & wipe activity book with more than a dozen pages of activities and games using shapes, colors, numbers, letters and more.

As I said, in the past year Kaelyn has shown a lot of interest in learning her letters, writing her name and just being involved in educational type activities. I had a feeling this would be perfect for her, and I was right! She absolutely loves it!! Between moving and going on vacation, it's been something that we've used a lot on the go, as well as at home. I love how compact it is and how many activities it includes inside. Whether she's in the mood to be creative and draw and create, or work on her shapes, colors and numbers...this great kit has it ALL!

In the time we've had it, Kaelyn has not lost interest with this creativity kit once. She pulls it out daily and loves learning while having fun. It's neat to see her being creative and having fun while learning at the same time. It truly does allow for countless hours of fun, imagination and learning!
I have been extremely impressed with this kit and now have it on a Christmas list for my nephew who is Kaelyn's age. It's something I believe would be perfect for any child 3 years or older.

With baby #3 due to arrive in 7+ weeks, we decided it was time to transition Kaden from his crib to a big boy bed. I thought he may cry or try to crawl out, but to my surprise he climbs right up in bed and sleeps just as well (if not better!) than he did in a crib! He LOVES his big boy bed and I couldn't be happier with how easy this transition has been. I will admit though, it is a little bittersweet. My baby boy is growing up so fast!

It works out great. No longer do I need to carry around a bulky diaper bag when I can simply carry this clutch. It's incredibly convenient and something I wish I had had a lot sooner. I'm so happy to have it now!

The diaper clutch alone holds quite a few diapers, and the wipes case is great! I simply refill it when it's getting low and we always have enough wipes to get us by when we're on the go. It's so much better than carrying a big bag of wipes along with us.

I did not have this done, but if you choose...you can also personalize your diaper clutch and wipe case set with your little one's name. I love this idea, especially for gift ideas for new moms. This is one item I will definitely keep in mind when baby showers roll around. Who wouldn't love the style and convenience this set offers?!

Halloween is nearing, which means many of us parents are in search for the perfect costumes for our kids. I've learned to skip browsing the isles of overpriced costumes in stores when I can find great deals right online! There is a huge variety of costumes out there and prices to fit any budget. Having been so happy with Costume Express last year, I was thrilled when I learned we were going to have the opportunity to review a couple of adorable costumes this year as well. We were sent the Future Golfer Infant/Toddler Costume and the Mr. Postman Toddler Costume for Kaden and Kaelyn.

When the costumes arrived, the kids were just as excited as me to check them out.

I was immediately drawn to the Mr. Postman Toddler Costume, as was Kaelyn. Kaelyn loves watching for the mailman each day...and I knew she'd love having a costume like this!

I was happy to see all that was included with this costume. Other than the shoes, everything is there which makes it a very convenient choice for Halloween or even dress-up.

Before I knew it, Kaelyn had put on the shirt, pants and hat...and was ready to grab her coordinating blue mail bag to deliver the mail. :) I think the bag is her favorite part. She puts things in it and then comes up to each of us and says "special delivery".

The quality of this costume is really nice, and I absolutely love the details. The United States Postal Service Logo is what really makes the whole costume. Whether it's for Halloween or pretend play...this is a costuem I know we'll get a lot of use out of. It's absolutely adorable, and the fact that it's something Kaelyn was already familiar with makes it even more fun for her.

Of course, we also had to open up the super cute Future Golfer Infant/Toddler Costume! Our family enjoys golf, and ever since moving near the golf course...so does Kaden! He stands at our front door watching the golfers...pointing and smiling. When I saw this costume, I knew it would be absolutely perfect for him.

As I pulled everything out of the package, I was immediately impressed with the quality. I didn't expect for the material to be as thick as it was. It was definitely a pleasant surprise! By the time Halloween rolls around, it will be quite cold here...so a costume like this will be great in keeping Kaden warm.

I love that the costume comes with so many accessories. Not only does it have all the clothing one needs to look like a real golfer, but the accessories like hat and golf bag really pull everything together.

Kaden wasn't too sure about the hat (hence the reason why I didn't get a picture of him in it), but he didn't seem to mind the outfit and really loves the golf clubs! I think it's an adorable costume and can't wait to see him in it again on Halloween! One thing to note...with this costume I did ask for a size larger than he normally wears after reading all of the comments and am very glad I did. The 3T fits him perfectly!

Once again, Costume Express did not disappoint. Their shipping was speedy...and the selection of costumes they offer is fantastic! We're very happy with the quality of these costumes and have gotten lots of compliments from people who have already seen them on the kids.
