Fun in the Sun #18: Rocking Seesaw from HearthSong Review & Giveaway

From the moment we brought Kaden home from the hospital, Kaelyn's love for her little brother was evident. Every chance she got, she was wanting to hold and kiss him. It wasn't long before she began asking when he would be able to play with her. Over his first year of life they played together off and on, but it wasn't until he began walking that they really began to bond. He was now able to keep up with her better and do some of the things she could. I knew by this summer he'd be running around and they'd be able to play together even more. I was right! It's been so much fun seeing them interact and play together in the swimming pool, the playground, sandbox, etc. It's moments like these that have me always searching for great toys they can enjoy playing with together. Thankfully, I've found that with HearthSong.

Anyone who has been visiting here for a while knows I am a huge HearthSong fan. Every time I browse their website, I find products that are unique and something my family would be able to enjoy together. Recently I was particularly interested in all of their great outdoor toys and was immediately drawn to the Rocking Seesaw! I love finding toys that encourage my kids to stay active and have fun together. I had a feeling they would love this, and I was right!

Upon pulling the seesaw out of the box, I have to admit I was a little intimidated by all of the pieces. I couldn't help but wonder if it would be difficult to assemble. Thankfully, the instructions were very helpful. It did take over a half hour to put together, but it went together easily and was well worth the effort!

When I saw it put together for the first time, I was very impressed. I love the fun colors as well as the design. This is definitely not something you find in every backyard. It's unique and something that reminds me of the playground. Our kids love it!

I also appreciate the nice size. It's easy to move around in the yard and on our porch. It has rubber-padded rockers which make it safe to use even indoors.

With the warmer weather, we haven't brought it inside the house, but have used it on our porch when the weather is rainy or cold. I love that it can easily be moved around, and is made to last outdoors thanks to the weather-resistant metal.

Of course, one of my biggest concerns with any toy is safety. After checking it over, I was really happy with how durable the seesaw is. I can tell it's not only safe for my kids, but something that will last us a very long time. With a recommend age of 18 months to 8 years, we'll have many years to enjoy it for sure.

There are a few features that really make this seesaw stand apart from others I've seen. I really love the curved design...it's the perfect mix of a rocking chair and teeter totter (two classic things all kids love!). I also like that there's not only two comfortable seats for the kids to sit on, but also one in the middle. Seeing that a third person could sit on this has me excited for when baby #3 is old enough to play with Kaelyn and Kaden!

The kids were really excited to use the seesaw and have not lost interest since. It's entertaining and helps instill cooperation which I think is great! I love watching them play together and on the seesaw, the laughter never ends. It's fantastic! With its sturdy build, the handlebars, footrests and backrests (when they sit far enough back)...this is a very easy toy for both my 19 month old and 3 year old to use together. I'm looking forward to our nephews coming over to play with the kids on this. I know they'll all have a blast!

Overall we've been really happy with the Rocking Seesaw from HearthSong! It's extremely well made, and a lot of fun for the kids. It's a unique toy that provides hours of entertainment. We just love it! I would definitely recommend families with young children to check this and other products out from HearthSong.
