Fun in the Sun #5: Hamilton Beach Stay or Go® Personal Cup™ Pod Coffeemaker with Senseo Coffee ~ Review & Giveaway

Growing up I remember seeing my parents drink a cup of coffee every morning, wondering what it was they loved so much about it. I never thought I'd be a coffee drinker, but as the years go by...things have changed. I have actually found my love for coffee growing more and more. There's just something about a good cup of coffee or cappuccino in the morning that helps get my day started off right. With summer just around the corner, I know we'll be on the go a lot more. That means it's necessary to have a brewer that makes it as easy as possible for me to make a cup of coffee, grab it, and go. We've owned several Hamilton Beach products over the years and are always impressed with their style and function. That's why I was excited to learn that we were going to have the opportunity to review their Stay or Go® Personal Cup™ Pod Coffeemaker!

When the coffeemaker arrived, I couldn't wait to check it out.

Upon pulling it out of the box, I was immediately impressed with its great size. It's lightweight, and best of all...slim enough that it doesn't take up a lot of room on my already overcrowded counters. I could also tell that the quality is exactly what I would expect from Hamilton Beach...top notch! There was also a bag of 18 Medium Roast Senseo Coffee Pods included in the box so I was able to get started brewing right away!

I also love the sleek and modern design of the Stay or Go Personal Cup Pod Coffeemaker! The black and stainless steel look are very stylish and go great with the other appliances and decor in our kitchen. I'm proud to have it sitting out on our counter for everyone to see!

Once I had checked everything out, it was time to try it out. When it comes to coffeemakers I want something that is hassle-free, quick and easy to use. Thankfully...I found all of that with this Hamilton Beach coffee machine. In three easy steps I had a cup of hot coffee waiting for me!

After plugging in the appliance, I pulled out the pod brew basket, lifted the divider and placed a Senseo Coffee Pod inside. One pod is recommended for 8 ounces or less of coffee (or for those who like their coffee more weak like me). For stronger coffee, you can place a second pod on top of the divider which I think is great! Two pods are recommended for up to 14 oz of coffee...or if stronger coffee is desired. Although I don't like my coffee very strong, I have many family members who visit often and do. This is the perfect way to get a great cup of coffee each and every time...no matter what your taste. I really appreciate having this option!

Once the pod brew basket was back in place, I poured in the water. I really like that the measurements are right on the inside of the water reservoir..marked 8 oz or 12 oz. This is helpful, especially when sometimes I like to use a coffee mug and other times I have a larger travel mug for on-the-go.

Speaking of different mug sizes...this coffeemaker is great for those who use both mugs and travel mugs. There's a built-in stand perfect for smaller coffee mugs. How neat is that?! I love the versatility!

I was now ready to start brewing. I pressed the start button and the Power On Indicator Light came on. Within no time my coffee started brewing and I had soon had a cup of yummy, hot coffee! If for some reason a person would need to stop brewing mid-cycle, simply unplug the unit from the outlet. Otherwise, the coffeemaker will shut off automatically and the light will go off when the brew cycle is completed.


I don't know how it could get any easier than that?! Not only is the process of making the coffee easy, but I love how simple it is to clean up too. The brew basket and built-in stand are even dishwasher safe!

I have been very impressed with the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go® Personal Cup™ Pod Coffeemaker! I love that it's a personal cup unit, because it makes for easy clean up and ensures that I am making just the right amount of coffee...without wasting a whole pot of coffee. The quality is fantastic and it couldn't be easier to use. I would highly recommend it for those looking for an affordable, high quality, and user-friendly coffeemaker!
