Celebrating Mom Finale: Hoover WindTunnel Air Upright Bagless Vacuum Review & Giveaway

I will admit, that although I'm not a clean freak....having my floors spotless is one thing I'm very particular about. With two little ones who are always laying and playing on the floor...it's important to me that I keep my floors clean and free of crumbs and dirt as much as possible. This usually involves vacuuming at least twice a day...if not more. Talk about a time-consuming and not fun job. With so many other things to get done during the day (besides cleaning the floors), I need products that make cleaning the floors easier, faster and even more enjoyable so that I'm able to get back to the important things in life...my husband and my kids! Thankfully, Hoover understands my needs and offers a great line of high quality floor care products.

I have owned a couple of Hoover products over the years, and have been very happy with their quality and performance. As a fan of Hoover, I was very excited when I learned we were going to have the opportunity to review the Hoover WindTunnel Air.

When the Hoover WindTunnel Air bagless upright vacuum arrived, I couldn't wait to check it out.

As I pulled it out of the box, I was happy to see that there was very little assembly required. In just a few minutes I had the handle and quick fit hose put into place.

Once it was all put together, I was extremely impressed with the size.

At just 12 pounds, this is the lightest Hoover® full-size bagless upright vacuum available. I dread pulling out our big vacuum every day....and have hurt my back on numerous occasions. Lifting the WindTunnel Air however, is a breeze! I am able to take it out of the close easily, as well as carry it up and down our stairs with ease. The convenient carrying hand located on top really helps a lot.

It's also sleek and slim, which I appreciate as well. It's large enough to do the job it needs to, while small enough that it's not only easy to maneuver, but also store in the closet when we're not using it. Space is always an issue in our house, so having something that helps save room is great!

I had a feeling this would be a nice vacuum, but had no idea just how nice and how many great features it has to offer! I love how versatile it is. Whether it's carpet, hard floors, stairs, high places, tight spaces, or even under the couch...this handy vac does it all with full power and no loss of suction! For stairs and other areas that require a longer hose (like vacuuming dust from the tops of doorways, etc), there's a telescopic handle with built-in wand that detaches with one simple touch. Simply connect the stair hose to the built-in hose and easily clean stairs without having to lift and carry the vacuum. The 3-in-1 combination tool can be used to make cleaning ever more thorough and easy. Use the crevice tool to help clean nooks and crannies and the upholstery/dusting brush to help get furniture clean. I love that this type of cleaning is made possible, as well as the fact that it's so easy to do!


The deep recline handle lets the machine recline flat to the floor to clean under furniture like beds and couches. It's been perfect for those low, hard to reach places that no other vacuum has ever been able to reach without moving the furniture completely. By simply pressing my foot on the base (there's a small picture to show you were to press), I pull back on the handle and extend it as far as I need. Once put back into the upright position, the brushroll automatically stops.


Of course, one of my biggest questions wasn't only what made the Hoover WindTunnel Air stand out from other vacuums I've seen and tried as far as features go, but also how well it cleaned. Afterall, no matter how great a vacuum looks, if it doesn't clean...it's not worth having. Thankfully, Hoover did not disappoint! This vacuum works amazingly well. In fact, it works even better than the larger vacuum I currently own. I was impressed with how well it vacuums both carpet and hard floors. I usually have to pull out my larger vacuum and a smaller vacuum to do both surfaces, but this does everything and makes my life so much easier and cleaning so much faster! That means more quality time with my family! YAY!

The following are the types of messes we have after meals and snacks. I was curious to see how the WindTunnel Air would handle all the crumbs, as I've had vacuums in the past that just throw them all over. Thankfully, as you can see....it works great! And, for messes that are better without a brushroll, there's a convenient button near the on/off button so you can turn it off and on as needed.

It features a 30' power cord making it easy to vacuum large rooms without re-plugging, as well as a clear nozzle with no scuff bumper which protects furniture, baseboards, etc, and allows you to see the Hoover WindTunnel technology in action.

The power and suction are really great, as well as the multi-cylonic filtration system which cleans the air moving through the filter to ensure no loss of suction. It's made with HEPA media which traps 99.97% of dirt, dust and pollens down to 0.3microns! I love that the filter is rinsable too, because this means we're not having to spend money buying new ones constantly.

When it comes to maintaining the Hoover WindTunnel Air bagless upright, it couldn't be easier. As I mentioned, there's a rinsable filter that can be easily cleaned under running water and a high-quality filter made with HEPA media - neither of which will need to be replaced during the warranty period with proper care.

It's also very easy to empty out the canister when needed. Simply push down on the green lever as you hold it over the garbage, and out comes the debris. It really couldn't be easier! I love not having to mess with bags and a big mess.

I've been very happy with the Hoover WindTunnel Air bagless upright vacuum. It's very well-made and offers the features I need to get my house truly clean with very little effort or time. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to others and think it would make a terrific Mother's Day Gift!
