Boon Potty Bench Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, March 07, 2011

Potty training is inevitable. It's ones of those things every parent goes through with their children, which is why it's important to find tools that make the process go more smoothly. Thankfully potty training Kaelyn couldn't have been easier, and I'm hoping it will go just as well with Kaden in the coming months....especially now that we have found Boon, Inc and their unique Potty Bench.
With the goal of creating products that help simplify parent's lives while retaining their personal style, Boon, Inc is a name parents have come to know and trust. Offering a line of products with a simple yet effective design, everything from Bath, Feeding, Organization and more...parents are sure to find something well suited to their needs.

Browsing through the selection of great products on Boon's website, I couldn't help but think "wow, that would sure come in handy" or "wouldn't that make life easier?!" as I looked at each item. With so many items that would make our day to day life run more smoothly, I was impressed right from the start. That's why I couldn't have been more thrilled to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the Boon Potty Bench.
Features/Benefits:

  • Simplifies clean-up
  • Sleek, modern design
  • Easily converts to a bench or step stool that supports up to 300 lbs.
  • Soft flexible deflector helps guard against injury

I am a huge fan of products that can be used in more ways than one. That's one of the many reasons I was really looking forward to the arrival of the Potty Bench and checking out this training toilet and bench.

When it showed up on our doorstep, the kids caught sight of the box immediately. Kaelyn was begging to use her new potty, and Kaden seemed pretty excited about it too. Of course, I couldn't wait to check it out either.

I was immediately impressed with the quality. It's durable and something I can see lasting us a very long time. I also love that it's BPA-free, Phthalate-free and PVC-free.

I was also drawn to the sleek, modern design and color. I prefer neutral colors so I'm able to use products with both my kids, so green couldn't have been more perfect. The simple look is also great. It's something I proudly sit in the bathroom. I love that when not in use, it doesn't even look like a potty chair, but rather a step stool.

I will admit, at 19.5" x 12.5" x 7.125" in size, the Potty Bench is a bit larger than I expected. However, it offers everything a person could need in a training toilet and more! I love it! First of all, it is the perfect sized step stool. It's sturdy and tall which helps encourage hand washing with Kaelyn. The surface is textured helping to prevent slipping. I love the stable base and the fact that it supports up to 300 lbs. This means it's not only great for kids, but I've even found it useful as I sit next to the tub when my kids are bathing.

Although it's a great step stool, I was most interested to see how I would like it as a potty for Kaelyn (and Kaden in the near future). I love that the lid opens and closes. As I mentioned, this not only makes it possible to easily convert into a step stool or bench when not in use, but it also makes Kaelyn feel like she's using a big potty.

The simple design also makes it one of the easiest to clean potty chairs I've ever seen. Not only does the sturdy drawer slide out for fast, leak-free, easy clean-up... but the top part of the toilet easily snaps off for washing as well. No cracks and holes that are impossible to clean. YAY!

Promoting good hygiene is very important. That not only means using the step stool to help Kaelyn wash her hands, but also making the toilet paper and/or wipes easily accessible to her. Thankfully, Boon has even thought of this! This potty bench helps to organize all potty training supplies. There's a lot of storage! On one side there's a built-in toilet paper holder as well as storage space (which is where we keep the handy soft flexible deflector until Kaden is ready to use it).

The other side is open space, perfect for keeping wipes which is what we use it for.

Overall I've been very pleased with the Boon Potty Bench. The quality is great and I really appreciate that the Training Toilet easily converts into a large step stool (that's two products in one which means saving space!! YAY!). Not only that, but it's easy to use, organizes all our supplies, and is very simple to keep clean. I would definitely recommend the Boon Potty Bench to any parent with young children.
