I recently mentioned that one of my main goals for the New Year is to become more organized. Not only is it necessary because we have our house for sale, but also because less clutter and more organization definitely make life less stressful for me. Currently, I am focused on my kids' toys and books. They have accumulated a lot of things over the years, and I have been in search for a better way to keep it all organized. That's why I was happy when I came across Way Basics.
Committed to making easy and fun to build sustainable furniture that fits real life, Way Basics is not only focused on furniture, but is also dedicated to improving the planet at the same time. They are known for their recycled and recyclable modern furnishings...constructed with 99% recycled-paper zBoard. Offering a variety of eco-friendly products that meet people's needs for ease, value, creativity and self-sufficiency, it's no wonder they are a name people have come to know and trust.
When I came across the Way Basics website, I was very impressed with all they had to offer. Not only do they have great storage solutions like bookcases and accessories, but they also have children's tables and stools as well as trash and recycling products. There are so many things that caught my eye, however...with the goal of getting organized in the forefront of my mind, I was especially drawn to their storage cubes and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one!
We were sent the Way Basics Pink Storage Cube to review.
Features/Benefits:
- Outside: Depth 11.3" | Width 13.4" | Height 12.6
- Inside: Depth 11.2" | Width 11.5" | Height 11.2"
- Sustainably made from zBoard - recycled paper and completely recyclable
- Water resistant
- Includes white backer board
- Can permanently join your Modular Cubes together in different ways
- Available in several fun colors
- Easy to assemble
- Sturdy - lighter than particle board, but just as strong.
I was amazed how easy the storage cube was to put together. In less than five minutes and a few easy steps, the cube was put together and ready to use. All I had to do was place the pins in the each vertical zBoard, peel the 3M brand adhesive strips off, and stick the zBoards together. Once the cube was put together, I placed the white backer board on the back which is required for stability.
I absolutely LOVE that there are no tools or hardware required for assembly. Just peel, stick and you're done. As a busy mom I always appreciate anything that saves me time...so this was great! Although this was something I really liked, I couldn't help but wonder how durable the cube would be. Could it really stay put with no nails or screws?! The answer is, YES! The super-strong 3M brand adhesive strips let you fit the pieces neatly together and they stick like you wouldn't believe. I was amazed!
This storage cube is a very simple, yet cute design. I love the pink color and knew it would be perfect for Kaelyns' room. We have been using it to keep her books organized, which is working out wonderfully. She now has a place to put them when she's done instead of leaving them all over the floor. Of course this is only one possibility, the uses are limitless. It could be used for toys, or anything else you'd like to keep organized. I am amazed how much it actually holds.
And although it's just one cube, knowing that it is stackable and can be put together with other storage cubes has me imagining just how organized her room could become. With the ability to stack them side by side or one on top of the other, I know the configurations and possibilities of design are endless. If we want to, we could even mix and match colors.
At some point I'd love to get one of the JJ Cole Fabric Boxes found on the Way Basics website. It would be perfect for hiding some of her toys or other things and keeping it all organized.
Aside from the look and how practical the Storage Cube is...I greatly appreciate that it's safe as well. The quality is fantastic and I like knowing that because it's so sturdy, I don't have to worry about Kaelyn sitting on it or placing other things on top of it. There are also no dangerous toxins or chemicals like formaldehyde and VOC's. Having seen the comparison between zBoard and other products, I can see why Way Basics is a better choice for my family.
I am thrilled to have been introduced to Way Basics and their storage cubes. I look forward to checking out more of their products and hopefully purchasing some to help organize my kids' toys even more. I would highly recommend Way Basics and their line of high quality simple, safe and eco-friendly products.
