Wilton Holiday Prize Pack ($56 Value) Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, December 06, 2010

I love spending time in the kitchen baking all sorts of Christmas goodies this time of year. Whether it be decorating cookies, making gift baskets full of baked goods for friends and family, or something else...it's something I thoroughly enjoy doing especially with my little helper Kaelyn. And, thanks to Wilton, I always know I can find the best bakeware, decorating accessories, cookie cutters and more to make it even easier and more fun!

For 80 years Wilton has been helping families celebrate those special occasions in life with their quality bakeware and cake decorating products. They are a name people have grown to know and trust and are definitely the industry leader when it comes to cake decorating, quality bakeware and food crafting!

As I prepared for my holiday baking projects this year, I found myself browsing the Wilton Christmas Shop in awe of all their amazing holiday products. Whether you are looking for Christmas Bakeware, Icing, Cookie Cutters, Candy, Gift Boxes, or something else...they have it all.

I was very excited to learn I was going to have the opportunity to review a Wilton Christmas Gift Pack full of great items that would take my holiday baking to a whole new level this year! The package included:

  • Christmas Light Bulb Set
  • Holly Mix Sprinkles
  • Candy Cane Sprinkles
  • Gingerbread Family Cookie Cutter Set
  • 5 Pc Holiday Roller Cutter
  • Candy Necklace Set
  • Holiday Peppermint Bark Kit
  • Wraps n' Pix
  • Poinsettia baking cups
  • Holiday mix sparkling sugars
It couldn't have arrived at a better time, as I was just getting ready to make my first batch of sugar cookies with Kaelyn. I was especially interested in trying out the 5 Piece Holiday Roller Cutter.
We use all different kinds of cookie cutters, but this was something new to me. I love that in one roll I am able to cut so many cookies at once. They are small, but perfect for bite sized treats. I love that it's so easy to use that even Kaelyn could easily do it with me. The comfortable ergonomic handle makes cutting a breeze!

We used the Gingerbread Family Cutter Set to make some of our cookies as well. The quality is amazing and they wash up perfectly. I am really looking forward to using them many more times in the future...especially for making actual gingerbread men with our gingerbread houses!

Of course, once our cookies were baked and frosted, we had to decorate them (that's the best part, right?!). I pulled out the Christmas Light Bulb Set, Holly mix Sprinkles, Candy Cane Sprinkles, and Holiday Mix Sparkling Sugars and we got started. Kaelyn loved decorating the trees with the Light Bulb candies (they're very real looking and such a fun touch to any cookie or cupcake) and Candy Cane Sprinkles especially. The Holly Mix Sprinkles are really fun too...as well as the Sparkling Sugars...they look great on the cookies.

I found that each container of sprinkles and candies held a lot. Even after decorating one whole batch of cookies (which makes a lot) we still have plenty left for our next holiday baking day!

Aside from their great decorating items, Wilton also offers many products for cookie exchanges and gift-giving, including great Christmas Gift Bags and Boxes! We were sent an especially fun set, the Holiday Peppermint Bark Kit that I plan to use to give out to family and friends. It includes:

6 Snowflake Cutters
14 oz. Wilton Candy Melts® brand confectionery coating (8 oz. Dark Cocoa and 6 oz. Candy Cane Colorburst)
2 Disposable Decorating Bags
6 Gift Bags
6 Silver Ties
6 Tags

I love that everything is there to make delicious goodies and gift bags. By using the included cutters, Wilton Candy Melts® brand confectionery coating...I will have yummy treats that I can easily package in the included bags with tags. What an easy gift idea! I can't wait to see what my friends and family think of them when they receive them this Christmas!

If you're planning to make cupcakes, either for yourself or for a holiday get-together, you'll definitely want to check out their great baking cups. We were sent the Wraps 'n Pix and Poinsettia Baking Cups. I have not made cupcakes yet, but when I do (probably in the next week or two), I know these will add the perfect finishing touch. What fun way to spruce up a cupcake and make them extra Christmasy. I love that the Wraps 'n Pix come with the pix to place at the top of the cupcake. Wilton definitely has made it every easy to come up with Christmas treats in no time.

The last item, and probably the one that caught my and Kaelyn's attention most, was the Candy Necklace Kit.
I love finding projects I can do with Kaelyn in the kitchen...and with the holidays just around the corner, what better gift from a child than to make candy necklaces. With everything from the candy beads to the elastic string included, it was very simple to do. I love that each kit (there are 8) comes packaged individually!

I have been very happy with the Christmas products we were sent from Wilton. All of them have made baking so much more fun and festive this time of year. I love that they are all made to make holiday baking easier and add to the creativity of the goodies I make. Having so many options to choose from, the sky is the limit when it comes to the baked goods I make. Thanks to Wilton I have been able to make several different holiday treats that I'm proud to share with others. I am excited to bring them to family get-togethers this Christmas!
