Checking Our List #29: Curious Chef Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Saturday, December 04, 2010

One of my favorite things to do this time of year is bake. With the holidays just around the corner I love to make all kinds of Christmas goodies including chocolates, cookies, etc. As Kaelyn gets older she enjoys helping me in the kitchen more and more. Whether it's stirring, pouring ingredients, or decorating...she's right there with the willingness to help in any way she can. Thankfully there's a company like Curious Chef who makes it easy for little ones to help with their line of kid-friendly kitchen tools.
Curious Chef was born when a group of parents were struggling to find cooking utensils that their children could use in the kitchen. They realized the need for something that could fit little hands and have since come up with a whole line of kid-friendly kitchen tools that are not only age appropriate, but encourage fun and discovery in the kitchen.

We have had the opportunity to review a couple of Curious Chef's great gift sets and continue to be amazed with the great quality of the products. With the holidays just around the corner, I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review their 26 Piece Holiday Cookie Kit.

Set Includes:

  • 4 paper chef hats
  • 4 aprons
  • 4 cookie cutters
  • Cookie turner
  • Rolling pin
  • 6 piece measuring spoon set
  • 6 pieces measuring cup set
When the Holiday Cookie Kit arrived I was very excited to start baking our Christmas cookies with Kaelyn. Upon opening the box I was very impressed with all that was included. There were four paper chef hats and four aprons, making this the perfect kit for a family more children. Kaelyn absolutely loved wearing them as she helped make cookies!

All of the tools are brightly colored and appealing to children of all ages. When it comes to quality, once again they did not disappoint! Everything from the cookie cutters to the rolling pin are high quality and made to last a long time (maybe even nicer than some of my kitchen utensils!). This is much appreciated as I know we'll have many more years of baking together.

The moment Kaelyn saw all of her new utensils, she was begging to make cookies. Of course, I couldn't say no. We got everything out and had a wonderful time. I absolutely love baking with her. It's a great bonding time a fun thing we both enjoy. The kitchen tools not only make it a lot of fun for her, but the fact that they are real utensils made for little hands makes it easy for her to really help and feel like she's a part.

As we made the cookies, Kaelyn had the best time helping pour all of the ingredients in with the measuring spoons and cups. It amazes me how much she learns every time we bake together. She's learning measurements, counting along, and having fun at the same time.

She also enjoyed rolling out the cookie dough and using the cookie cutters to make her very own cookies. It's neat to see her so proud of the things she helps make. What a great way to get kids excited about cooking and learning important skills at such a young age.

I couldn't be happier with the 26 Piece Holiday Cookie Kit from Curious Chef. It's the perfect way for Kaelyn to help and have fun while we're baking. I love that Curious Chef offers real kitchen tools that are safe enough and sized just right for kids. I'm so thankful for their line of products and think they would make excellent Christmas gifts for children of all ages.
