CSN Stores Bakeware Review

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, October 07, 2010

With my kids each having birthdays next month, and the holidays just around the corner, I know there will be a lot of baking going on. Between birthday cakes, Christmas goodies and big meals, much of my time will be spent in the kitchen over the next couple of months. As I looked through my cupboards, I realized much of my bakeware has seen better days and that I was in serious need of some new items. That's when I went searching CSN Stores, one of my favorite places to shop online.

If you visit here frequently, you know what a big fan I am of CSN Stores and their 200+ stores! With their user friendly site, huge selection of products and great prices...I can't help but turn back to them for everything from home decor, toys for the kids, furniture and more! Since 2002, CSN Stores has been there making it easy for people to find everything they need, all in one convenient location. They're known for their huge selection of quality products, superior service, variety, and low prices.

I was very excited to learn that I was going to have the opportunity to do another review for CSN Stores. With my need for new kitchen items in the back of my mind, I headed straight for their huge selection of bakeware.

I had a great time browsing through everything, and although difficult to choose just a few items, I decided on the following which I've been needing/needing to replace for quite some time:

  • Farberware's Soft Touch Nonstick Carbon Steel 12 Cup Muffin Pan
  • Calphalon Classic Bakeware Cookie Sheet Combo (Set of 2)
  • Paula Deen 9" x 13" Stoneware Baker in Green
When the items arrived, I could not wait to check them out. I wanted to check out the cookie sheets first. I have never been very fond of the cookie sheets I have now, and was hoping I'd be happier with the Calphalon Classic Bakeware Cookie Sheet Combo (Set of 2).

Features:
  • Set of 2 cookie sheets
  • Reinforced nonstick is Calphalon's most durable nonstick ever
  • Professional grade construction ensures a lifetime of performance
  • Aluminized steel construction resists rusting
  • Oven safe to 450 degrees
  • Dishwasher safe for easy clean-up
As I pulled them out of the box, I was thrilled with the aluminized steel construction and the fact that it resists rusting. This may sound small, but I also really like how both sides of the sheet are angled. The cookie sheets I have now just have one end like this, and I am forever having cookies and things slip off the pan when I pull it out of the oven.

I have had the opportunity to use these baking sheets and am really happy with the even baking it gives. Colors affect baking performance, which is why these feature a medium grey color that gives cookies a golden brown color while protecting them against getting too brown. The surface is non-stick which has been very nice as well.

My muffin pans get a lot of use...as I make a batch of some kind of muffins on a weekly basis. I knew I needed a new pan, and thought the Farberware's Soft Touch Nonstick Carbon Steel 12 Cup Muffin Pan would be perfect. I was right!

Features:
  • Holds 12 full size muffins
  • Silicone enhanced handles for a slip free grasp
  • Nonstick coating allows easy food release
  • Cleans easily
I noticed the silicone enhanced handles right away and really liked this feature. It helps to give a slip free grasp.

The surface of the Farberware muffin pan has a nonstick surface which, in my opinion, is a must! It has made taking out the baking cups and clean up very easy. It's made of heavy weight carbon steel, which seems to allow for even heating and browning. Our muffins have been turning out wonderful!

Finally, probably my favorite of all three products, is the Paula Deen 9" x 13" Stoneware Baker in Green. I have a lot of different bakeware, most of which is not great quality and already chipping. I have had my eye on Paula Deen's bakeware for quite some time, and couldn't wait to finally test it out.

Features:
  • 9" x 13" Stoneware Baker in Green
  • Crafted in a unique swirl pattern
  • Designed for oven, microwave, and refrigerator use
  • Ideal for prepping, baking, serving & reheating
  • Earthy and dramatic, this durable, textured stoneware is uniquely glazed so that no two pieces are alike
  • Dishwasher safe and oven safe to 500°F
  • Quality Assurance Guarantee
The moment I picked it up, I knew it was fantastic quality. The durable, textured stoneware is something I know will last us a very long time. The fact that it's dishwasher and oven safe makes it even better!

Quality is important, but so is appearance when it's a baking dish that can be taken from the oven straight to the table for everyone to see. I love the earthy look of the glazing and swirl pattern. It really makes this baking dish stand out from any of the others I have. I would love to get more pieces from the Paula Deen line at some point.

I couldn't be happier with the three items I received from CSN Stores to review. I know they will get much use and will last us a very long time. These are just a few of the thousands of products CSN Stores offers. I'd highly recommend checking them out if you never have before!

Buy It: You can purchase the Calphalon Classic Bakeware Cookie Sheet Combo (Set of 2) for $29.95, the Farberware's Soft Touch Nonstick Carbon Steel 12 Cup Muffin Pan for $13.95, and the Paula Deen 9" x 13" Stoneware Baker in Green for $24.95 ...all three found at CSNStores.com.
