Cascade Complete Pac Challenge

Posted by Jenna | Tuesday, July 20, 2010

One of the things I dread most is doing dishes. I don't know if it's dealing with the mess or the fact that I feel like I'm doing them all day long....but it's just not something I enjoy doing. We have a dishwasher, but to be honest...up until recently I thought there was something wrong with it and usually chose to do dishes by hand. Unless dishes were practically clean when put in, they would come out just as dirty as they went in. Thankfully, Cascade has taught me otherwise!

Cascade has earned a Best New Product Award from Better Homes and Gardens for their Cascade Complete Pacs. They were so excited about this honor, that they wanted to put their product to the test and asked me to participate in The Cascade Complete Pac Challenge. Of course, I happily said yes! Maybe it wasn't my dishwasher with the problem, but the products I've been using?!

As part of the challenge, I was sent a package of Cascade Complete Pacs, a messy recipe and a baking dish...asking that I make the recipe and put the messy dishes in the dishwasher with no pre-washing.

For those who are interested, the recipe we were asked to make was:

Alex McCord's Potatoes au Gratin et Moutarde

Ingredients:
5 Medium potatoes
1 C of beef stock
3/4 C 2% Milk
2 tbsp of whole grain mustard
2 C grated white cheddar cheese

Directions:
1. Peel and slice potatoes into thin rounds, and steam until tender, then set aside.
2. Blend the beef stock, milk and mustard into a sauce.
3. Lightly grease or spray a baking dish.
4. Alternate layers of potatoes and cheese until you run out of potatoes.
5. When finished, pour the sauce over the top, then garnish with a little cheese on top.
6. Bake at 400˚ F for at least 45 minutes, or longer if you like a crispier crust.

When it came time to put the dishes into the dishwasher, I have to admit, I was a little nervous about no pre-washing them. I was nervous that there would be food hardened to the plates and dishes...not mention a film on them like I get with so many of the other products I have used in the past.

Once the dishwasher was done, I opened the door to find sparkling clean dishes! Not one had any food left over at all. It was amazing and made me realize that it wasn't our dishwasher that was the problem, but the products we've been using in it. The following is a picture of the baking dish just after taking it out of the dishwasher. WOW!

I am definitely sold on Cascade Complete Pacs. I have had the chance to use them several times and continue to get fantastic results! You can learn more about this great product by visiting CascadeClean.com!
