Gearing Up For Summer #20: Cuisipro ~ Donvier Ice Cream Maker Review and Giveaway

One of my favorite treats this time of year has always been ice cream! Growing up, I remember summer time meant homemade ice cream. It was something my family did together and a fun thing I want to do with my own family. That's why I was excited when I came across Cuisipro and their Donvier Ice Cream Maker.

We had never made ice cream with Kaelyn, so I was really excited to test it out when it arrived. She loves ice cream, and being able to be a part of the process of actually making it was something I knew she'd really enjoy!

When I pulled it out of the box it was actually smaller than I expected it to be. I was really happy about that, as I have a limited amount of space for small kitchen appliances/products like this in my cupboards. It's a very nice size and makes more than enough ice cream for our family.

There were many sample recipes included, but we decided to make a simple vanilla ice cream using cream, milk, sugar and vanilla to start. Kaelyn loved being able to help pour in each of the ingredients and use the handle to stir.

Oh, and of course eating it was the ultimate highlight for her! She loved it!

What I love is that it's so incredibly easy to use. There is no electricity, salt or ice needed. All we had to do was put the Chillfast cylinder in the freezer for at least 12 hours (overnight), throw in the ingredients and turn the handle every few minutes until it was ready.

When we were finished, it couldn't have been easier to clean! Within minutes we had everything cleaned up and ready to use another time.

Making homemade ice cream is something fun our family can do together this summer (or any time of the year for that matter). It's also a great way to treat ourselves to yummy ice creams, healthy frozen yogurts, fruit sorbets and more! We love the Donvier Ice Cream Maker and will definitely be getting a lot more use out of it over the years. It's great quality, easy to use and perfect for this time of year especially! This is just one of so many great products Cuisipro offers though. I'd love to have their Ice Cream Scoop and Stack at some point. It would be another great product for summer time!
