Sylvania Supersaver Halogen Light Bulb Review

Posted by Jenna | Wednesday, March 24, 2010

I've always been curious as to how I would like energy saving light bulbs, but have never purchased them for our home. To be honest, I want to conserve energy, but am not a huge fan of the look of the spiral looking ones. That's why I was very excited when I found out I would have the chance to test out the Sylvania Supersaver Halogen Light Bulb thanks to Mom Central!

Although I do want to be environmentally conscious, I don't want to compromise the quality or the way a light bulb functions. That's why I was so pleased to have the opportunity to review the new Sylvania Halogen Supersaver light bulb. They emit the same bright light as regular incandescent bulbs, but use 22-33% less energy, they also don't contain mercury which is a huge plus for me! When they arrived I was happy to see that they are shaped much like the bulbs we already use and are dimmable (a feature we use in many rooms of our home).

Having used the two we received to review, I can tell you that I am more than impressed. I am now able to conserve energy, while still having mercury-free light bulbs that look like the bulbs we've always used! I am definitely interested in purchasing more of these for our home, especially with the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 which will phase out the traditional light bulbs we have used in the past.

Buy It: You can purchase the Sylvania Supersaver Halogen Light Bulbs on the Sylvania website for prices starting at $4.29 for a two pack. Also sold at Menard's and select BJ locations nationwide.

You can also find Osram Sylvania on twitter.

**I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SYLVANIA and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.**
