Silikids: Skiliskin Glass Review (Great for Toddlers!)

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, February 18, 2010

At 2 years old, our daughter is all about doing things on her own. Over the past few months, I have especially seen her independence while eating. She loves to use utensils and of course, a 'big girl cup'....she wants nothing to do with a sippy anymore. I love that she is developing these skills, but have been struggling to find a cup that is not only small enough, but also one that is easy to hold onto, for quite some time. That's why I was thrilled when I came across the new Siliskin Glass from Silikids.

In 2006, Stacey Feeley and Giulana Schwab founded Silikids. They saw a need for practical and non-toxic children's products, and together they developed an innovative, clean and safe line of silicone-based items. What's great, is that Silikids is the first mom-founded brand focused on creating children's products that are germ free, mold and toxin free, hypoallergenic and made of silicone.

We were sent their new Siliskin Glass to review.

What I love about the Silikids, is what an improvement it is to children's glass tableware! It's perfect for toddlers who are wanting/learning to drink from a 'big kid' cup. The size was perfect for Kaelyn to hold, and the silicone that covers it not only makes it easier to hold, but also helps to protect it in case of accidents. This is exactly what I've been looking for in a small drinking glass for Kaelyn...yet with a lot more to offer. I love that it's non-toxic and safe for her to use.

We have been very happy with this toddler glass, and plan to purchase more for her soon. I can tell that they are great quality and will last us a long time. That's a good thing, because they will be good to have on hand once our son begins drinking out of a glass down the road as well.

Silikids also offers several other great products that I'd love to try at some point. I currently have my eye on their Silipads which help to protect those little knees when crawling on the floor and their Silibibs...soft and easy to clean silicone bibs.
