Fun in the Sun #10: Sportcraft Outdoor Summer Games Review & Giveaway (Winner's Choice!)

Here in the Midwest winter can last up to 6 months or longer. After being cooped up that long, you can imagine how excited we are to finally get outdoors this time of year! We enjoy spending time together as a family and soaking up the warmth as much as we can for the few months of nice weather that we get. I'm always looking for fun things we can do together outdoors, and was happy when introduced to Sportcraft.


In the early 1920's, Walter and Sophia Holdstein would often travel back to London aboard the queen Mary to visit Sophia's family in England. As I browsed the Sportcraft website for the first time, I was immediately impressed with their great selection of family-friendly games. With summer weather finally here, I especially was drawn to the activities we could do outdoors...bean bag horseshoes, foldable ladderball, etc. and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one of their great summer games!

When the table tennis set arrived, I was excited to check it out.

As I pulled everything out of the box, I was happy to see that everything was assembled and the box included everything we would need to play table tennis. There were two table tennis paddles, three balls, and one retractable net.

Also included was a very easy to use diagram of how the retractable net works. I couldn't believe in just a couple of steps we had the game hooked up to our table (indoors the first time) and we were ready to play! Simply push down on the blue button and clamp one end to the table, pull the table tennis net across the surface and clamp down to the other end. It's really as easy as that! In less than a minute it was all set up.


What I love about the retractable net is that it's so versatile. It can be attached to any surface area or table top measuring 75 wide and 1.75 inches thick. It's perfect for anything from a kitchen table or card table, to a table outdoors. It's a fun indoor and outdoor game which will be great for both rainy and warm days this summer! YAY!

Best of all...it does not take up a lot of space! Its compact design allows us to store it easy and take it anywhere we go. It comes with a great mesh carrying bag that everything slips right into. I love that it's something my husband and I can do together, as well as a fun activity to pull out when we have friends and family over. And, although the kids are still under the recommended 6 years old age...they really enjoy trying to play too!



One thing I noticed right away was that the quality is incredible. The net is sturdy and something I can see lasting us a very long time. The same goes for the paddles. The moment my husband picked one up, he said "These are very high quality paddles. Not cheap ones like you see sometimes."

Overall we've been very happy with the Anywhere Table Tennis set from Sportcraft! It's well made, easy to use and fun for the whole family. We've enjoyed it a lot already and summer is just getting started. I'm looking forward to many more fun family table tennis games over the coming months.
