I don't eat a lot of sweets, but my one weakness is chocolate! My hubby knows this, many times when he runs to the store to pick something up...he surprises me by picking up a Hershey's Chocolate Bar or a bag of Hershey's KISSES. What can I say....I love Hershey's chocolate!! That's why I was excited to learn that Hershey recently opened the doors of a new state-of-the-art factory in West Hershey, PA. To celebrate, they want to hear about favorite memories that include their iconic KISSES!
As I said, we would visit our Grandparents' often and each time we visited Grandma S. we knew that she would have a treat for us. It was something we looked forward to every single time! We would walk in the door and run to her kitchen where she had a birds nest sitting with a bird on it. Under that bird always laid a treat for each of us kids. What was it you ask?! Hershey's KISSES!
No matter how old we got, my brothers and I always looked forward to this little treat that my Grandma had waiting for us. It may have been small, but the thoughtfulness that went behind it meant so much. I love having this memory of her now that she has passed away, and it's neat that Hershey's KISSES are a part of that memory that I will never forget. It is something that I'd one day like to do for my grandkids as well...a tradition to be passed down.

I remember when I was in elementary school that I won a giant sized Hershey kiss as part of the Valentines celebration. I can remember getting home and me and my brother getting out a knife to chop off pieces to eat. Then I remember the disappointment when we found out that this giant Hershey kiss was actually hollow. This was especially troubling for my brother because there was no longer enough chocolate for me to share!!!

My favorite Hershey Kiss memory is helping my mom bake cookies at Christmas. I would unwrap all the Kisses while she made the cookie dough. I would twist the Kisses onto the cookies just after they were removed from the oven. Some fell on the floor which were okay for me to eat but not put in the cookies, couldn't serve those to the guests!
My husband surprising me with a bag after a stressful day of work.

My mom use to buy us those HUGE hershey kisses for valentine's day, or easter.. they were so good. We'd shaved the chocolate off and sprinkle it in our cocoa!
My favorite Hershey Kisses memory was last Valentines day when I put some kisses on the counter and told my kids that we were starting the day with a 'kiss'. Once they realized I meant the candy, they were soooo excited!! lol
I remember receiving one of those giant Hershey Kiss filled candy canes every year at Christmas. There is nothing better than cracking that candy cane open to dig into the chocolate, and nothing worse than realizing you have just eaten the last piece. asotv@aol.com
