Sleep Number m7 Memory Foam Bed ~ Review

 

As a mom of three little ones (including a 6 month old who is still eating around the clock), adequate sleep is not an easy thing to come by. That's why I am always hopeful that by the time I finally get to lay my head down on the pillow at night, that I'm able to get good quality sleep and wake up feeling rested and ready for the busy day ahead. Unfortunately, this has not always been the case. In the past, I would wake up feeling sore from how I slept, or tired from tossing and turning at night. That is, until this truck pulled into my driveway and changed our lives forever!

When I was asked to review the Sleep Number m7 Memory Foam Bed, I couldn't have been happier. I was familiar with Sleep Number, but had no idea that they had a memory foam bed. A memory foam bed with Sleep Number adjustability...WOW! It sounded heavenly!

Shortly after learning about this fantastic opportunity, my husband and I headed to the nearest Sleep Number store for our IndividualFit 3-D imaging experience. I had this done years ago, but remember very little of the experience, so I was really excited to go and learn more about these great beds. This was the point when I realized just how unique Sleep Number beds are from other innerspring mattresses.

Unlike springs that can poke and prod in traditional mattresses, I learned that Sleep Number beds are designed with air chambers to distribute your weight more evenly, gently contouring to your body to support every curve. Our bodies need a bed to form to us, to mold and support. That's exactly what a Sleep Number bed does. It helps to reduce pressure points and increases the area of support, which makes for a more comfortable, and better night's sleep.

The IndividualFit 3-D imaging experience was very informative, as we had a great Sleep Professional there to help us! She began by having me lay on the bed and explained how the Sleep Number bed works. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to visually see what comfort-level alleviates any uncomfortable pressure points I had and which Sleep Number I am so I can sleep better.

During my in-store experience, I found that I am most comfortable with a Sleep Number setting around 30 (the higher the sleep number, the firmer it is....the lower the number, the softer it is). Since having children, my posture seems worse than ever. I have a terrible time getting comfortable in bed because of my neck, as well as the way the small of my back curves more now. That's why I was excited to find a bed that allows me to get the support I need in these areas. It also helped me realize how convenient it is to have a bed that can change with a person over time. Whether it's pregnancy, aging, sleep temperature, or something else...Sleep Number beds are versatile and great for meeting your changing needs over time.

Of course, after our in-store experience...both my hubby and I were very excited for our bed to arrive. I was really impressed with the service of Sleep Number. We were kept up to date on the status of our order every step of the way. We were called a couple of weeks prior to receiving our bed, to confirm the bed we had ordered and that everything was there that we would need. We were also called to schedule the bed delivery at a time that was convenient for us. I think the most impressive thing though, is that they provide in-home set ups which take about 30 minutes! The HD techs even offer to take your old mattress for you at no additional charge!

When the bed arrived, the home delivery techs got right to work. As they began setting up the bed, I was happy to see that the Sleep Number m7 fits standard bed frames. With a platform bed, you would only need a mattress. But, since we have sleigh bed style, we needed the foundation and mattress. The foundation is needed because Sleep Number beds perform best when positioned on top of a solid, sturdy foundation. If a person doesn't have a frame, legs for the bed are supplied as well.

It was really interesting to watch as they set up the bed. It was more simple than I had expected. It's nice to see it done by professionals, that way if we ever move the bed, we'll know how to set it up properly. They began by setting up the foundation.

The techs then assembled the mattress, placed the memory foam comfort pad, and hooked up the firmness control system. The whole process took right around 30 minutes which was very impressive if you ask me! That included them going over the basics of the bed with us too!

Once it was all set up, I was in awe!! It is so soft, comfortable and luxurious!

Along with our Queen Sleep Number m7 Memory Foam Bed came a dual chamber remote. It's very easy to use which I appreciate. I was impressed with all the functions as well! Not only does it allow users to find their desired Sleep Number setting (using the L and R buttons along with up and down buttons), but it also has a couple of other features I did not expect!

Our remote also features a Memory Button and Fill Button. The memory feature allows us to set our favorite Sleep Number for each of us into memory and recall it at any time. Now that my husband and I have found a Sleep Number that we love, we use this a lot...especially after we've filled it.

The Fill Button is really neat as well. This feature allows you to inflate one or both chambers to a Sleep Number setting of 100. This is especially nice in the morning after I make the bed. Filling up both chambers gives the bed a nice, finished look when it's all made up. Then, by pressing memory at night, we're able to quickly find our Sleep Numbers again. It's really that easy!

We have been sleeping on our Sleep Number m7 bed for 2 weeks now and love everything about it! The first couple of days took some getting used to, though. Thankfully, the Sleep Professional at our in-store experience told us that sometimes it can take several nights of sleeping at different settings to discover the perfect setting, so we were prepared for this. Once we each found our ideal Sleep Number setting, we were sleeping better than ever!

I am amazed at how fast I fall asleep now, and the quality of sleep I get each night. I do not toss and turn at all anymore. In fact, when I wake up to feed Caysen at night, I am usually in the exact same sleeping position as I was when I fell asleep. I feel like I sleep much deeper and better now with the m7 bed. It's incredible! I also wake up feeling more rested and with no pain. I used to wake up with neck and back pain and have had no discomfort whatsoever now that they are being supported while I'm sleeping.

I am the type of person who gets warm easily when I sleep, and I have felt cool and comfortable since we started sleeping on this bed! It has been wonderful, as a comfortable temperature is so important when it comes to a good night's sleep.

I really think this is a great bed for couples! Since all of us have different comfort levels, it's natural for two people to have differing opinions on what bed to get. When it comes to finding a mattress...this can be difficult if you're looking at one-size fits-all mattresses. But not with the Sleep Number bed. Having the dual air technology and adjustability on each side, means that both my husband and I are able to find a comfortable setting that works for us. We absolutely love it, which I'm sure you have concluded by reading our thoughts and experience with the Sleep Number m7 bed! It's a bed that redefines memory foam by offering a bed that cools, contours and adjusts so each sleeper can experience their most comfortable, most personalized sleep ever!
