Mouth Man Hoodies ~ Review & Giveaway

At four years old, my daughter enjoys helping pick out the clothes she wears each day. She tends to be picky about her outfits, always wanting them to be fun and comfortable. I'm always on the lookout for fun, unique clothing for her and my boys, and found just that when introduced to Mouth Man hoodies!

Ross Valory (an original member of the rock band Journey) founded Mouth Man in 2009. His inspiration came while the band was on tour years ago, visiting friends in Arizona. One of his friend's kids came running into the room with his arms crossed, elbows pointed forward, opening and closing in a chopping fashion like jaws. Ross thought it was cute, and so the idea for Mouth Man was born! Since launching, Mouth Man continues to grow and surge into the exciting apparel industry.

 

So what is Mouth Man? They offer a large variety of kooky Sports hoodies with an added surprise. A mouth is revealed when arms are placed as if in a self-hug. With graphics ranging from a shark and dinosaur to a frog or even sock monkey, there's something for everyone!

As I visited the Mouth Man website for the first time, I was instantly drawn to the colorful and fun hoodies. There were many fun designs, but the Child Sock Monkey Hoodie Shirt stood out to me right away and I couldn't' have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review it!

What I love about Mouth Man is that they understand that fun loving kids come in all sizes (into adulthood even!), so the size chart spans from 2T for toddlers all the way up to a big person's 2XL. I decided to request a 4T for Kaelyn and couldn't wait for it to arrive. 

Kaelyn was begging to try it on. I couldn't blame her, I was very interested in seeing it out of the package as well!

My first impression was how fun and colorful the shirt is. It's perfect for kids, as the details are rich and vibrant! I also love the 100% polyester Sport Fabric. It's thin enough for summer, yet also great for layering so it can be used year round. What's even better, is that the fabric is actually UPF 50 which create a great sunshield for kids at the pool or other outdoor activities. We've already gotten a lot of use out of it this summer! 

Something else to note, which I think is really great, is that Mouth Man hoodies are printed with eco-friendly inks on recycled fabric - made from plastic bottles! How neat is that?! I love that they are "green" and designed and made right here in the USA! 

Of course, the fun part of this hoodie, is actually seeing it on and in "action". When Kaelyn put it on, I was happy with how well it fit and the fact that the size chart seemed to be true to size. I was also drawn to the adorable monkey featured on the front and back (I LOVE that you can see the back of the monkey on the back of the shirt...it adds so much to this already adorably fun hoodie!). The cute stuffed old fashion sock monkey on the yellow/orange background is really cute. He looks so cute and quiet, until....arms are folded across the chest like you're giving yourself a hug. Then this quiet little monkey turns into a cute, big mouthed hollering monkey! :) 

 

Kaelyn did pretty well figuring out how to get her arms together correctly to show the mouth. Now anytime she wears it she likes to show everyone how her shirt "works".
