My little boy turned 1 year old a week ago, wow...where did that year go?! Being my third child it has taken me longer to get the baby weight off this time around. One year later and I'm still working on getting to a weight I'm comfortable with. I am not a huge fan of diets, so I've been trying to healthier and watch my portions. The problem is, it's not always easy to guess about portion sizes. That's why I'm thankful for the new EatSmart Precision Elite Kitchen Scale!

For those who read here often, you know that I'm a huge fan of EatSmart and their high quality products! I have always been happy with how easy they are to use and the fact that they make my life easier! That's why I couldn't have been more thrilled when asked to review the EatSmart Precision Elite Kitchen Scale!

 

When the Scale arrived, I took it out of the box right away. I was immediately impressedwith the durable, stainless steel design. Not only can I tell that this will be something to last me a long time, but it's sleek, modern look also looks great in my kitchen. I love the look!

 

Of course, after checking it out, I couldn't wait to give it a try. I was thrilled to find that the 4 AAA batteries needed were included. It was great, because I did not have any in that size on hand. Having them included made it possible for me to use it right away which I really appreciated. This also is a great thing for people who are thinking about giving this as a gift. The recipient will love being able to use their scale right out of the box!

Once I had it all set to use, I turned it on. The scale then counted down 3-2-1 and went to zero. At this point I selected my desired measurement from the choices: grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds. It was now ready to use. I found myself making a dinner that evening that required 6 oz of spaghetti noodles. I usually buy a larger box of noodles, and without a scale would typically guess (usually guessing way more than needed). I was excited to have the scale to help me measure out the exact amount I needed for this particular recipe. And, it couldn't have been easier!

I simply turned it on, set the noodles on the scale and added to it until I had 6 oz. It was perfect and sooo easy!

For times that I need to measure something on a plate or in a bowl, there's the tare function which is also very easy to use. It allows me to autmoatically return the scale to zero at any time, enableing you to subtract the weight of an item (like a plate) or weight multiple items in a row. For instance, I measured a bowl like I normally would. Then, pressed the on/off/tare button. This reset the weight to zero. I then added the next ingredient to the bowl and weighed it. It was so simple, and accurate!

As I said, aside from cooking I also like to use the Precision Elite Kitchen Scale to help me keep track of portion sizes and start living a healthier lifestyle. Thanks to the scale and the helpful EatSmart Calorie Factors book included have made it easy for me to do just that! Everything from fruit, to breads, to snacks...I use it to help me count calories.


When it comes to sweets, I especially like to count my calories and make sure I'm not consuming too much. I have used this scale several times to weight things like cookies so I know how many calories I'm eating.

I truly appreciate that this scale has taken the guessing game out of portion sizes and it has helped me watch my calorie intake. It is truly simple to use and very good quality! I love it's user-friendly features like easy to read backlit LCD display, as well as the fact that it has a maximum capacity of up to 15 lbs. This means that it can accommodate large mixing bowls and plates and is sure to tackle almost any job in the kitchen quickly and easily.

I'm extremely happy with the EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale! I would highly recommend it others and as a Christmas gift this year.
