Over the past year I have had the opportunity to review a couple of Joovy products. I have found them to be a step above the rest in quality, practical design and making my life easier as a busy mom. That's why I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the Joovy Room Playard in black!

When the Joovy Room Playard arrived, I was excited to check it out. Upon pulling it out of the box, I found everything included, including a user-friendly instruction manual.
As a busy parent, I appreciate products that are easy to put together. Thankfully, I found that to be true with this playard. I began by assembling the playard. In no time at all I had locked the side rails into the up position and had the floor pushed down. When used in this position, all one needs to do is set the mattress inside the playard with the soft side up and velcro it down.
We use the Joovy Room in the Playard position a lot now. Caysen is a little boy on the go, and there are times I need to keep him in one place to play so that I know he is safe. This is especially true while I'm making dinner, doing laundry, etc. The best part is, he absolutely loves it! I put a few of his toys in with him and he loves to sit and play. It's spacious enough for him to move around comfortably, and keeps him safe which is of the utmost importance!
As I said, we use the playard to give Caysen a safe place to play at times, but it's also the perfect travel companion as well! Folding down to a convenient size in a handy carrying case, we'll be able to take this with us on trips easily! We are actually taking two mini vacations over the next month, and I'm looking forward to having a safe, comfortable place for Caysen to sleep! The playard will be absolutely perfect for this. Designed for children up to 35", I could easily use it with my 2 year old and have him sleep in it if I ever needed to as well.
Of course, playards are also great for younger babies too! The Room is versatile, offering not only a high quality playard, but also a removable full-size bassinet that holds an infant up to 15 pounds! Although Caysen is a couple of pounds over this now, I still wanted to set it up and be able to tell you just how simple it was.
To assemble the bassinet, I first took the mattress out of the bottom of the playard and set aside. I then took the bassinet and attached it to the playard using the plastic rail attachments, slid in the bassinet side rail tubes, pulled it over the side rail and secured it, and then slid in the support tubes. Once the bassinet was in place, I put the mattress into with the soft side facing up. There are four square Velcro attachment points which keep it secure in the bassinet. It really took no time at all, and it was ready to go.
The changing table is another feature that adds to the versatility of this product. It can be used with or without the bassinet and holds a baby up to 25 lbs. Once I had it assembled and attached to the playard securely, I was happy to see what a nice size it is. Not only that, but it seems comfortable and has a vinyl top (not fabric) so it's super easy to wipe clean. We've been able to use this several times with Caysen and love how easy it makes diaper changes. This is another thing that will come in very handy when away from home.
