Hoover TwinTank Steam Mop ~ Review

Although I wouldn't consider myself a "clean freak", having my floors spotless is one thing I'm very particular about. With three children playing and laying on the floors, one of who is crawling all over and puts every little crumb in his mouth...it's important to me that I keep my floors free of dirt and stains. I am always looking for ways to make this easier. As a busy mom I want to spend less time cleaning and more time with my family. Thankfully, Hoover is there to help.

We've owned several Hoover products over the years and are always impressed with the quality and user-friendly design. That's why I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop

This steam cleaner is designed to clean and refresh an entire home, while conveniently removing tough stains and everyday dirt and grime. This is just what I've been looking for and couldn't wait to try it out when it arrived!

Upon pulling it out of the box, I was happy to find that it came assembled. All that I had to do was put the handle in place and get the pad put on. As a busy parent, little or no assembly is much appreciated! 

The Hoover TwinTank Steam Mop has two removable tanks for convenient filling and cleaning. One is for water, and the other is for the proprietary 100% biodegradable formula cleaning solution that allows Hoover TwinTank to out clean other steam mops. Once I had these filled, I was ready to get cleaning!

After plugging it in and turning it on, it takes about 30 seconds for the light to turn green letting you know it is all ready to steam. I love that they've taken a unique approach to steam cleaning by utilizing an adjustable control TwinTank system! This allows the user to clean surfaces of their home with steam only, or with Hoover SteamPlus Cleaning Solution. There are times I just want a quick clean that disinfects, and other times I want more of a deep clean. I have both options with this one unit and I love it! 

The Solution Control Dial allows me to easily control the amount of cleaning solution used to meet the needs of any clean job I come across. And let me tell you, it does a fantastic job both with steam, and with the cleaner! I'm amazed how well it has cleaned my hard floors! There's even a water filter for a streak free finish on floors, and it works great! I love the finished look after I've used this steam mop, and best of all...I know my floors are clean and that it disinfects and kills or removes greater than 99.99% of harmful bacteria with steam alone (including MRSA, Staph, and Salmonella!). That is a great feeling, especially with little ones playing on the floor daily.

I'm able to easily mop all of our hard floors without having to unplug at all, thanks to the 30ft power cord. This makes cleaning go a lot faster, as I don't have to stop and keep re-plugging. The triangular swivel mop head also makes it easy, as it can pivot and maneuver into tight corners and along baseboards. 

I have found that it takes some strength to push and that I have to push the on-demand steam trigger on the handle whenever I want to steam, so it does take some effort. However, the results are well worth it! This really is ideal for everyday cleaning and removing of tough stains from hard floors like laminate, tile, hardwood, vinyl, etc. It can even be used on your carpets and rugs to refresh and sanitize them! I love this feature and am looking forward to utilizing it more and more!

Overall I've been really happy with the Hoover TwinTank Steam Mop! It leaves my floors spotless and is really easy to use. I find myself enjoying cleaning my floors more now knowing just how clean they're getting and that they're safer for my kids to be playing on. The quality is fantastic and I can tell it's something we'll be able to use for a very long time.
