Kaelyn has always had a love for toys and activities that challenge her. From the time she was very young she's had a love for learning and it's something I want to encourage in any way I can. That's why I like to keep a lookout for products that do just that. Thankfully, I know I can count on Carson-Dellosa and their great selection of educational products for parents, teachers and children!
Carson-Dellosa Publishing, LLC is a leading solutions provider for educators and parents, founded by two teachers. This company has continued to grow, offering an array of products that enhance a child's learning potential and environment through quality curriculum, supplemental learning materials and classroom resources. Their complete product line includes everything from classroom decoratives and pocket charts to supplemental books for different subject areas and manipulatives from award-winning brands like Summer Bridge Activities, Key Education, Brighter Child, Spectrum, and more!
When I was teaching I had the opportunity to use several Carson-Dellosa products and was never disappointed. That's why I was thrilled to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review their Alphabet Train Floor Puzzle for Kaelyn.
Kaelyn has always enjoyed anything that involves letters...books, toys, etc. When I came across the Alphabet Train Floor Puzzle, I knew she would love it! She is very much into doing puzzles these days, and the fact that it was all about the alphabet couldn't have been more perfect! When it arrived, I was immediately impressed with the sturdy box it comes in. When it comes to products that have a lot of pieces, I like to have a way to keep them safe and organized when not in use. This box works perfectly.
Of course, Kaelyn and I couldn't wait to check it out. As we pulled out the pieces, I was very happy with the quality of each piece. They're printed on durable stock and thick enough that I don't have to worry about them tearing our bending when she plays with them. I can definitely tell these will last us a long time.
We had a lot of fun putting it together. I was amazed how quickly she picked up on finding the next letter. She kept saying her ABC's and would say 'mommy next comes the D (or whatever letter was next)'. It's neat to see her having so much fun while learning and strengthening skills like visual discrimination, problem solving, hand-eye coordination, motor skills and more! It's challenging, yet something she really enjoys. By the time the 10 ft puzzle was put together, her eyes lit up and I could tell she was very proud of the train she had just put together. She then took it apart and put right back together again.
Not only does this puzzle help her recognize letters, but she also loves to talk about the sounds they make and words that start with them as she puts each puzzle piece down. Just in the time we've had it, she's learned so much! It has already provided hours of educational fun and I'm sure will be a favorite around our house for years to come.
I've been very happy with the quality of the Alphabet Train Giant Floor Puzzle from Carson-Dellosa, as well as the fun and educational value it provides. I would highly recommend it to any parent of young children and think it would make a terrific Christmas gift!
