Do you ever find that there are those days when making lunch is just not something you want to do? There are definitely times when I'd much rather have a quick and easy meal that tastes great and is still a healthy option for me, than trying to decide what to make myself. That's why I was excited to learn about the new Healthy Choice steaming entrees!

As part of the Healthy Choice Blog Tour through Mom Central, I had the chance to try out two of their varieties: Portabella Parmesan Risotto and Lemon Herb Chicken. When the two entrees arrived, I loved the clear packaging so I could see what I was actually getting. The list of ingredients was short and I could actually identify what each was...no more hidden ingredients! For instance, there was cooked brown rice, peas, water, mushrooms, etc.
Portabella Parmesan Risotto - Flavorful portabella mushrooms are mixed with garden peas, whole-grain rice, and red peppers for extra taste. Cover it all in a delicate Parmesan cheese sauce and it's love at first bite, Italian-style.
Lemon Herb Chicken: Tasty chicken tenderloins are prepared in a savory herb lemon-Chardonnay sauce and are mixed with firm whole-grain pasta, juicy cherry tomatoes, and succulent green beans. And at just 210 calories, it's a lunch-sized portion that will take your taste buds on a trip down the California coast.
In my opinion, the best part about the new entrees is that they are steamed. There's a steam release vent in the film of the packaging which ensures that within about 4 minutes in the microwave, you'll have a fresh tasting meal. There's no need for poking, peeling or other steps like I've seen with other frozen meals.
Next I'd love to try the Chicken Romano Fresca and Sesame Glazed Chicken! Yum!
