Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail Review & Giveaway (Winner's Choice!)

Over the years I've learned which baby products we can live without and which are a necessity. One of those must-have items is a good diaper pail! We've tried many in the past, only to find that they either don't contain the smell or require special, expensive refill bags. I had yet to find one that suited all of our needs, until I was introduced to the Ubbi Diaper Pail!
For those who are not familiar with the Ubbi name, they provide unique, quality products that are designed to be easy to use and convenient for busy parents. Their first product to launch is the Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail. Its innovative design and simple features caught my attention right away as I read more about it on the Ubbi website and I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one!

When the diaper pail arrived, I couldn't wait to check it out.
Upon pulling it out of the box, I was drawn right away to the sleek and modern design. I love that parents have a choice in the color they'd like...making sure that the diaper pail fits in with their nursery decor perfectly. I chose the sand color and really like it...even better in person than I did online!
Another feature that stood out to me was that this diaper pail is steel, not plastic. The diaper pails we've used in the past have always been made of plastic, which actually seems to absorb odors over time. This one however, is the only steel diaper pail equipped with rubber seals to keep smells in. The steel also makes it one of the highest quality diaper pails I've come across. I can tell it will last us a long time!

Aside from the quality and attractive appearance, one of my favorite things about the Ubbi Diaper Pail is that it does not require a special bag. The diaper pail we were using before, required special bags which were expensive. I love that this diaper pail takes a standard 13 gallon trash bag (something we always have on hand and don't need to make any special trips or orders to get!).

We were sent a box of Ubbi Plastic Bags along with the diaper pail to use and I couldn't believe just how easy they are to use. There's no trick to getting the trash bag in just right (I've struggled with this before with a couple of other diaper pails I've used)...simply drop it into the arm inside the diaper pail, close the lid and it's ready to use.
For cloth diapering families, it is also nice that the there are Ubbi Cloth Diaper Pail Liners that work perfectly. This is not something that I've found with other pails and appreciate that Ubbi has thought of. These liners are washable, odor-resistant and waterproof.
The true test came when it was actually time to use the Ubbi Diaper Pail. Thankfully, we were not disappointed! It is very easy to use. By pushing the handle back, you can easily throw the diaper in. Then just close it and turn the child lock.

I really appreciate the lock. My two year old was forever opening and closing our old diaper pail, which only made the nursery smell. This however, keeps the lid sealed tightly until we need to open it.
Speaking of smell, I've been pleasantly surprised with just how well it keeps the smell of dirty diapers in the pail. We've had no issue with this at all which is great!

At first I thought the pail seemed a little small, but having used it, realize that it actually holds a lot of diapers. Since we're now able to use standard size trash bags, rather than special ones that are very narrow...we actually empty the garbage pail less now. I love it!

Overall I've been very happy with the Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail! The quality is great, and much thought went into making sure this was a sleek, simple and easy to use product for busy parents. I'll definitely be recommending it to others I know.
