Holiday Gift Guide 2011 #7: CP Toys Little Helper Cleaning Set Review & Giveaway

As the holidays near, I've been having more and more family members asking me what the kids would like for Christmas. There are many options out there, so rather than always giving a specific idea, instead I like to leave it up to them offering just one suggestion...find something that inspires learning, fun and creativity! My kids, like most, enjoy the toys that allow for open-ended play. The kinds that can be played with hours on end...allowing them to use their imaginations any way they like and have fun while learning. As I browsed CP Toys for the first time, I was impressed with their large selection of fun toys for children of all ages! I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one of the great toys from CP Toys...the hard part was picking just one! I spent quite some time searching through the different toys, and thankfully....the user-friendly website made that very easy! There are helpful tabs at the top of the page that made it easy for me to search by category, age and price. In searching for something that would suit the age and interest of both my kids, I decided to go with the Little Helper Cleaning Set and am really happy I did!

Both Kaelyn and Kaden are at an age where they LOVE to imitate the the chores we around the house. If we're cleaning, they want to be cleaning too. That's why I knew this Little Helper Cleaning Set would be a hit!

The moment it arrived, the kids caught glimpse of the picture on the front of the box. They couldn't wait to check it out!


As I pulled everything out of the box, I couldn't help but wonder how long it would take to assemble. Having two very anxious little ones wanting to play with it...I was hoping it would be quick and easy. Thankfully, it was! In no time at all (just a few minutes), I had the rolling cart put together and all the "tools" put on and ready to use.


I love that so many of the items we use here at home were included in this neat cleaning set. With everything from a play broom, mop and bucket and vacuum (with hand vac), to pretend cleaners and cleaning cloths...this is the perfect way to get little helpers involved and imitating grown up chores.



The kids absolutely love this toy! Not only do they pull it out when they see dad and mom cleaning the house, but also when they're playing too. I have found them in their playroom "cleaning", as well as other areas of the house too! They love pulling out the cleaners and pretending their cleaning off the floors, or sweeping up the crumbs on the floor after their dolls eat a meal.



All of the cleaning tools and products have been a big hit, but the two that are probably a favorite around here would definitely be the rolling cart and the vacuum! The rolling cart has been a lot of fun for them to push around and keep all of their things on. I like that it helps keep everything in one place so they aren't losing the things that came with it. They love rolling it around the house and cleaning one room after another.

The vacuum is a favorite for both of them too, as this is something they see my husband and I doing a lot! It's realistic looking, and the fun part is there's sound effects and a hand-vac that comes off so they can use it separately if they want too. It does take 3 C batteries that aren't included, so I would recommend getting those if you're considering this as a Christmas gift. That way it will be all ready to play with when the kids open it!

Having toys that are well made is very important to me. I want my kids to be able to have fun and not worry that their toys will break after just a couple of days of playing. This Little Helper Cleaning Set is made of durable plastic and seems like something that will last us a long time. It's held up great to the wear and tear of daily use already!

Overall we've been very happy with the Little Helper Cleaning Set! I've been impressed with the quality and the selection of different product included. It's been fun watching as my kids use their imaginations and imitate the grown up chores they see us doing on a daily basis. This cleaning set has already provided hours and hours of fun for both of them, and I know it will continue to be for a very long time.
