Safety 1st BoostAPak Belt-Positioning Booster Car Seat ~ Review & Giveaway

**The products for this review/giveaway were provided by Safety 1st. All opinions are my own.

Whether it's a family trip or a typical school day, there are times when we need an easier way for Kaelyn to to ride in the car. We want to keep her safe in a high quality car seat, but also need for it to be something that's convenient when she's going to school in one vehicle and riding home in another. Thankfully, Safety 1st has come to our rescue with the Safety 1st BoostAPak!

Features/Benefits:

  • Backless Booster: 40-80 pounds and 43" -  52"
  • Moves easily from car to car – great for car pools
  • Travel friendly: fits easily into an overhead bin
  • Unique, patented fold-out seat belt guides
  • Durable plastic shell
  • High visibility reflective trim
  • Removable cover for easy spot cleaning
  • ID tag

I was thrilled to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review such an innovative booster carseat, and had a feeling it would be perfect for our busy lifestyle. I was right!

When the Safety 1st BoostAPak Belt Positioning Booster Car Seat arrived, I was immediately impressed with it's compact design. I could also tell the quality is top-notch! It has a durable plastic shell and the cover removes for easy spot cleaning as well!

There are some booster seats that are not very comfortable for Kaelyn to ride in, but she has not complained once about this one. In fact, she likes it quite well and says it's comfortable to sit in. This backless Booster is made for children 40-80 lbs and 43"-57" so it's just right for her.

Not only is it great for times we're running errands, taking her to school, etc...but it's perfect for car pools too. One of the neatest things about this seat is that it's not only a travel car seat, but doubles as a back pack! It's easy for Kaelyn to take with her if she's getting a ride from someone else, and even has an ID Tag so she doesn't lose it.

The design makes it easy to convert from a Belt-Positioning Booster to a backpack, and to my surprise actually offers a lot of space!

The fact that it's convenient to move from one car to another makes it easy for my husband and I on a daily basis when he takes her to school in his vehicle and I pick her up in mine (or someone else is taking or picking her up). It would also be great for travel, as it's made to even fit into an overhead aircraft bin!

As I said, we've been using this with Kaelyn and appreciate the quality it provides. I love the fold-out seat belt guides that make it easy to ensure Kaelyn is buckled in properly and safe (or top priority when it comes to any car seat or booster seat!). There's also collapsible armrests as well.

This portable and convenient carseat is lightweight (at just 3.4 lbs) and is truly something both parents and kids will love. Now that we have it, I don't know how we went so long without it! In fact, once Kaden is in school, I foresee us getting one for him as well.

We've been very happy and recommend it to other families we know as well. If you're looking for a great travel booster seat, I would definitely recommend checking out the BoostAPak by Safety 1st. It gives kids the convenience of a travel bag as well as the ability to stay safe when switching from one car pool to a different one.

The following are also some helpful car seat safety tips from Consumer Safety Expert, Julie Vallese:
  • The safest place to install a car seat is typically in the center of the rear seat.
  • Check in with a local Child Passenger Safety Technician to ensure your child's seat is installed correctly. You can visit a local police station, fire station, AAA office, or Safe Kids Chapter for guidance.
  • Car seats expire and CarSeat.org recommends that car seats be replaced every 5-8 years. This tip is so important because more than 40% of the car seats checked during a Safety 1st car seat check at the Indy 500 Community Day were replaced due to expiration or a recall.

Buy It: You can purchase the BoostAPak from BuyBuyBaby for $69.99.

Win It: One very lucky reader is going to win a Safety 1st BoostAPak of their own!
