Back-to-School with the Kidknows Mercury Free Outdoor Thermometer ~ Review & Giveaway

**The product for this review and giveaway was provided by Kidknows. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

It's hard to believe, but back-to-school season is upon us and soon Kaelyn will be heading to Kindergarten. She has enjoyed picking out all of her new supplies, but especially her new school clothes. She loves to help pick out what she's going to wear each day, and I know the school year is going to be no different. That's why I'm thankful to have been introduced to the Kidknows Mercury Free Outdoor Thermometer and given the opportunity to review one!

When our Outdoor Thermometer arrived, the kids were really excited to get it put on the window. Thankfully, it couldn't have been easier to do. It simply attaches to an outside window using two suction cups. We found a window that was not in direct sunlight and was one that would be easily accessible by the kids.

I have been amazed how well it stays put and holds up. We have had no problem with it moving at all, even in the severe storms we've been having over the past couple of weeks including high winds and hail! It's made of durable plastic and is something I can see lasting us a very long time!
Right away I was pleased with the bright and inviting colors and appearance. This is something geared toward children and the design is perfect. It's colorful, and at 10 inches tall...it's an ideal size too! I also appreciate that it's mercury-free and non-toxic.

Aside from the appearance and great quality, I love that this thermometer helps to empower kids to independently choose the right outfit to wear in various outdoor temperatures. It does this by associating degree measurements with easy to understand picture of appropriate clothing for the weather...right on the thermometer! How neat is that?!
Kaelyn often looks at the thermometer to help her decide what to wear in the morning. She also likes to keep an eye on it, because she knows if it's high enough, we may get to go swimming as well. It has been great for the summer weather, but will come in even more handy come the time school begins and the weather starts to change. In the Fall the weather can be different from day to day, so it will be nice to have a visual for Kaelyn to utilize that will help her understand how she should dress appropriately for the temperature.
It decreases any disagreements on what she should wear each day, making morning routines faster, easier and FUN! She and Kaden both love to use the thermometer and have said they feel good being able to use it to help pick out their clothes all by themselves. :)

Not only is it fun, but it's also educational. It helps to teach kids to read numbers and to understand the concept of measuring the outdoor temperature. I'm amazed how much my kids have learned in just the short time we've had this outdoor thermometer for kids.

They love it!

We've been very pleased with how well this thermometer is made, not to mention how child-friendly it is. I love it, and best of all...so do my kids! I would definitely recommend it to other families with younger children who are getting ready for a new school year to begin. It would make a great gift idea too! I'm already considering it as a gift for a couple of my nephews who I know would love it. It would also be great for teachers in the classroom, as it would help to teach kids reading and understanding the outside temperature and seasonal changes.
