Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat Featuring the TinyFit System Review & Giveaway

For those who read here often, you know this is my favorite time of year! I love the warm summer weather, flexible schedule, and being able to take vacations with my family! We have a few trips planned over the coming months, and above all...I want to make sure I've done all I can to keep my kids safe in the car. That means making sure that they have high quality car seats that exceed even the most stringent safety tests. Thankfully, I know I can count on Maxi-Cosi for just that!

Maxi-Cosi has been innovating, designing and producing the safest, most practical and comfortable baby products available for many years. With top of the line strollers, car seats and gear available, it's no wonder they are a name parents have come to know and trust!

We have owned a couple of Maxi Cosi products in the past, and have been impressed with the quality, design and safety features. That's why I was thrilled to learn about the new Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat Featuring the TinyFit System and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review it!

Features/Benefits:

  • Specially designed to fit small babies and install in small spaces
  • For children 4 to 70 lbs
  • Air Protect Side Impact Tehnology
  • FlexTech advanced construction system for multi-directional energy management
  • Perfect Fit harness sytem: one hand adjustment from the front
  • Deep reclining angle adjustment
  • $29 dollar value limited edition toddler pillow included
When the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat arrived, I was immediately impressed with the quality. It's incredibly soft and comfortable...making me wish that they had seats like this in cars for adults! It features the Air Protect Side Impact Technology which is a breakthrough system that shields a child's head and immediately reduces side impact forces through the precise release of air. LOVE it!

One thing that makes this car seat truly convenient, is how convenient it is. I love that it's made to grow with a baby and them safe every step of the way....designed to fit babies from 4 lbs to children up to 70 lbs! WOW! Having a car seat that can be used for baby's first ride home from the hospital and first ride to elementary school is pretty amazing if you ask me.

The TinyFit system is designed for small babies, 4 pounds up to 22 pounds. It must be used if your child is 18 lbs or less. If a child weighs more than 22 lbs and less that 40 lbs, the top of his/her head is at the top of the TinyFit insert, or the car seat is being used in the forward-facing position, the TinyFit infant insert must be removed.
I really love the TinyFit system. Caysen is nearing 18 lbs and his head is getting close to being at the top of the TinyFit insert, however...in the time we've been able to use it, I've been very impressed! I love how safe and cozy Caysen is when riding in it. He seems very comfortable and happy anytime we're in the car and going somewhere.
The TinyFit Body Pillow and Harness Covers are also great additions that aid in his comfort as well.
We will soon be removing the TinyFit system, which will make this a car seat suitable for Caysen rear-facing up to 40 lbs! We'll then be able to turn it around so he can comfortably sit in it up to 70 lbs forward-facing! It can easily be used from birth up to the school years and is one that we can use with any of our children which is very handy!
As I said, we've been able to use with Caysen quite a bit, and what I really appreciate is how easy it is to adjust so we can ensure a perfect fit for him, while still making sure he's comfortable. The Perfect Fit harness system makes it easy to adjust with one hand from the front without having to uninstall the seat from the car. I love this, as there are car seats out there that are not very easy to adjust at all.
The headrest is also adjustable to make sure the seat is suiting your child's needs and safety perfectly. By simply pulling up on the headrest adjustment handle, you can pull it up or push it down to exactly the right height. So simple! There are 11 harness heights and 3 buckle locations for the ultimate in adjustability. YAY!

The one thing with car seats is that many of the ones we've tried are pretty difficult to install. I was happy to find that the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 couldn't have been easier. In no time my husband had the car seat in the car, the seat belt threaded through the belt slot and buckled. The color-coded labels and instructions make it easier as well.

Not only is it easy to install into the car, but it also fits well too! It's actually designed to fit in small spaces which we appreciate, especially having two other children to fit in the car as well. This space saving design allows a more upright rear-facing installation providing additional space for adult occupants. The deep recline adjustment system also makes it easier to install and position the car seat correctly. We simply make sure that the level line on the side of the car seat is level with the ground.
Overall we've been thrilled with the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat! The quality is fantastic, there are many features which make it easy to use and convenient for our growing family...but more importantly,  we have peace of mind knowing that we can enjoy superior safety for Caysen as he rides it thanks to the Air Protect Side Impact Technology and FlexTech advanced construction system! I would highly recommend this car seat to anyone looking for quality, safety and something that will grow with your child.
