I don't know about you, but we have sure noticed an increase in our utilities bill over the past several months. As a family of five we look for ways to save money, which is why I was excited to learn more about the new Energizer campaign!

ReplyDeleteWe try to be good about turning off lights we're not using and keeping the thermostat at a reasonable temperature.
ReplyDeleteTurn off lights and electronics when not needed.
ReplyDeleteWe use higher cost appliances during off peak hours, saving up to use them most efficiently, like full loads of wash, then line drying.

We switched to smart hours, so use as little as possible from 2p-7p when rates are higher

We monitor our thermostat and it has a monitor to do so. My husband especially loves to keep it lower and we put on a sweater. I try to get things done in one trip in the car instead of 3 or 4 to save on gas money. Rita Spratlen rjspratlen@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteUnplug, shut off lights, appliances, air conditioning - when not needed.
ReplyDeleteWe unplug things in the morning when we leave for work. And replug things back in when we are going to use them.
ReplyDeleteIn the summer, I do more cooking outside and do my canning outside, so the airconditioner won't have to run so hard. And in the winter we use wood for heat. =)

Most of our appliances are Energy Star, and we try to use CFL bulbs and keep lights off when we leave a room.
