Cascade Complete Challenge ~ Review & Giveaway (5 Winners!)

As a busy mom I am always looking for ways to make my daily routine run more smoothly. Although one would think that running the dishwasher would be on the top of my list, it's usually more convenient to wash the dishes by hand. Why, you ask? Well, unless I spend time rinsing off all the dishes (almost to the point of cleaning them anyways) before putting them in the dishwasher, I usually find that they come out with hard dried food on them that I have to hand wash anyways. Being able to skip all these steps and just wash the dishes by hand is often easier and faster. That is, until I was introduced to Cascade Complete ActionPacs.

I was given the opportunity to take part in a 24 Hour Cascade Challenge. First I was asked to bake a blueberry cobbler, then set the empty baking dish out for 24 hours without rinsing it off. The next day I was aksed to put it in the dishwasher with a Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPac. Eek! I will admit, I was very skeptical about doing this. Letting the food harden on there for 24 hours, not to mention not rinsing it off first had me questioning how well the dish would clean.

I began by making the blueberry cobbler, which I should say is very good. My husband and kids really enjoyed it too!

Recipe

Filling:
1 Pint (2 Cups) of fresh blueberries
1 Can of blueberry pie filling

Crust:
1 stick of butter
2/3 C of all-purpose flour
2/3 C of sugar
2 packets of instant oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º F. Mix blueberries and pie filling in the bottom of the baking dish. Melt butter. Add all dry ingredients to butter and stir with a fork until mixed (this should be crumbly). Sprinkle crust over filling and bake for 30 minutes. The filling should be bubbly and the crust should be slightly brown and crunchy.

After we enjoyed our yummy dessert one night after supper, I left the dish sitting on the counter. The next day as I got ready to put it in the dishwasher, I was still wondering how well this would work. Could it really clean a dish with dried on food without being rinsed first?! Surprisingly, it did!! The dish came out clean and looking like new!
