Checking Our List #41: dB Logic SPL2 Headphones Review & Giveaway

There aren't too many people I know who don't have some kind of MP3 player or other portable audio device. With the popularity of products like this on the rise, it's no wonder I hear more and more studies about the damage loud music can have on hearing. It's important that we all protect our ears when using earphones and headphones, which is why I'm thankful for a company like dB Logic who can help us do just that.

As part of my husband's job, he is on the computer doing online training quite a bit. Although it's nice he's able to do it from home right on his laptop, it's often difficult for him to concentrate with kids running around or the television on. He has often said how nice it would be to have a good pair of headphones, which is why I was excited when asked if we'd like to review a pair of dB Logic SPL2 Headphones for adults.

When the headphones arrived, I was immediately impressed with the size. For some reason I expected the speakers to be larger, so this was definitely a pleasant surprise. They actually squeeze down to the size of a DVD making them very compact as well.



My husband and I have both tried them out and are amazed at how comfortable they are to wear. They're lightweight and the cushioned ear cups are extremely soft. Both of us have commented how there are times it hardly feels like we're even wearing headphones.

The adjustable headband and swivel design also play a role in why they're so comfortable. It allows for the headphones to fit any head size or shape perfectly.

In fact...even Kaelyn has tried these on for size on her little head and loves them! They actually fit very well. dB Logic is launching headphones with SPL2 technology designed especially for kids. They will feature a padded headband for added comfort and fun designs and patterns. I will definitely be checking into these, as Kaelyn loves to watch her portable DVD player and it would be great for her to have her very own pair of headphones that I know are made to protect her little ears.

As I mentioned before, these headphones use SPL2 which is Sound Pressure Level Limiting, the patent-pending technology from dB Logic that manipulates sound waves and selectively lowers the volume while still keeping the shape of the sound wave curve. Although I read this before receiving them, I still had to try them for myself to see what I thought about the sound quality. Having used them now...both my husband and I agree that they deliver very clear sound with no distortion. My husband was amazed at how clear the sound is and loves that he can hardly hear the sounds around him (the kids running around, the television on, etc) while wearing them.

Overall we've been very impressed with the dB Logic Headphones! They are very comfortable and really something the whole family can enjoy using. They offer great sound quality, but most importantly are made to help protect our ears thanks to the SPL2 Technology which protects agains the high sound pressure levels that cause hearing damage when you listen to music for extended periods of time.

If you have a teen or adult on your list who loves music, I would highly recommend the dB Logic Headphones with SPL2 Technology! They would make a terrific gift and stocking stuffer. dB Logic also offers earphones with SPL2 technology for those prefer something that fits in the ear.
