Gearing Up For Summer #18: Summer Infant Review and Giveaway

This is the time of year when our family is busier than ever. Summer is far too short, so we try to get out and enjoy it as much as possible. Whether it be stroller rides or car rides...it seems we're always on the go. We are finding the need for a lot of gear now that we're out and about with two little ones, and thankfully Summer Infant is there to help make sure we've covered all the bases.

As I browsed the Summer Infant website I saw several items that would be perfect for our summer outings and was very excited when I learned I was going to have the opportunity to review the Carter's® Bumble Collection Cozy Comfort Musical Swing.

There are times when we still use a swing with Kaden. It's a great way to soothe and entertain. When traveling and away from his familiar surroundings, we have found taking a swing with us to be a lifesaver at times! That's why I couldn't wait to test out the Cozy Comfort Musical Swing when it arrived.

I usually don't attempt the assembly of larger baby items and typically leave that job for hubby. However, after seeing how small the box was and the pieces included, I decided to put it together on my own. In no time I had the swing put together and ready for use!


My first impression of the swing was what a nice size it is. Although not as small as some of the portable swings you see, it's a much smaller and more convenient design than other swings we've used in the past.


I absolutely love the fact that it can easily be folded down. Not only is it great for storing it, but also when we want to take it with us traveling. There have been many times when we're at a motel or a grandparent's house wishing we had a swing that could easily be set up to entertain Kaden, and now we can! By just pushing in the two buttons on each side, it easily folds right up.

The swing seat is incredibly soft and cozy. It's the perfect place for babies to snuggle up and sleep or relax. Kaden absolutely loves it!

The adjustable newborn head support is also very soft. We have it in the swing sometimes for Kaden still, not for the support, but just because it's so soft. He seems to really enjoy the added comfort.

I love that the seat reclines back and can be set to sit forward. There are two buttons on each side that can be pushed in to change the position. For younger babies the reclining option is great, and I love that it sits up more straight now that Kaden is a little bit older.


With any baby item, my priority is making sure it's safe for my kids. The fact that this includes a 5-pt harness to strap him in is great! He's becoming quite the wiggle worm, and this helps ease my mind that he will stay in place and swing safely.


Aside from the great quality and comfort the Cozy Comfort Swing provides, it also offers a number of ways to soothe and entertain. The musical unit is where the swing can be turned on and off. There are 5 different speeds along with a timer. It's also where you can choose different songs, nature sounds and a womb sound to play for your little one. I wasn't sure how this would work with Kaden, but when he's placed in the swing and the nature sounds are playing...he falls asleep within no time at all! It's great!

The pivoting toybar is also a great feature. I love the fact that it can easily be moved so Kaden can see it well from any position he's sitting in. It includes three soft toys that he enjoys looking at, and when removed, he likes to play with them too.

We are very impressed with the Cozy Comfort Swing and will definitely be checking out other baby items from the Carter's Bumble Collection in the future. It's a product both babies and parents can appreciate.
